Definately a great substitute for my pod belt. I like the way the weight is distributed and adjustable to fit different builds.

I play mostly rec ball, and don't need 12 pods to lug around on the field like tournament-type play. I use a remote line, and honestly make it through most 15-20 minute matches with just the hopper and 2 pods. This vest was the perfect fit for my needs. I like the pods on the front for easy access and also to balance out some of the weight of the tank on the back. The vest also helps to distribute that weight to your shoulders instead of around your waist with a belt (which I could never quite get the right fit for either). It has great build quality that I expect from JT, a large zipper, and adjustment straps on the side. Except for the pouches and the should pad, it is entirely made of mesh for good ventilation. Seems a little expensive for what is is, but pretty much on par if not less than what you'd pay for similar quality gear from other manufacturers.

***UPDATE 04/03/12***
I've used this vest for two paintball days so far... one day of rec ball playing about six 15min games, and another day of a scenario of five 30min missions. After coming home from the scenario, I found that all four pod holders and the tank pouch and strap were tearing away from the vest. Pretty disappointed with the outcome, especially considering the price. Downgraded to 2-Stars. I'm gonna switch to a molle system after this.
