I love it, I love it, and I love it!!!
Ash•February 10, 2018
I did not even know about this musical instrument until about a week back. Someone forwarded a YouTube video of two guys playing Star Wars Cantina. I loved it. Researched a few products on Amazon and decided to order this one because of Hohner name associated with it. I love it. It is well built. It sounds great and loud, if you can blow enough air.
There was no need to order an extra tube, it comes with the product. Amazon shows it as accompanied product.

Great Sound, Great Price!

This melodica is exactly what I wanted. It comes with two different types of mouthpieces that allow you to play it in alternate ways. My personal favorite mouthpiece is the tube that allows you to play it on your lap. The piece in the original picture is nice if you'd like to play it while standing it upright and walking around.
The sound is amazing. The length of the notes and decibels obviously depend on the length and force that you blow into the mouthpiece with. If you've got some powerful lungs you could wake up your whole house with this thing or at least jam with your friends on an acoustic set.
This also comes with a handy case that zips up and also features two pockets for the mouthpieces and whatever else you might want to take with you on your play session. The case is durable and I've used to to store my melodica in a storage unit and behind my acoustic guitar case without any breakage or visible wear on the case (or my melodica of course).
This instrument is made out of hard plastic and seems durable all on its own. I've let some of my buddies play this things after a few drinks and as you can imagine they didn't treat it with the delicacy or poise I find myself treating it with. This has been dropped on tile and hardwood floor and there's not even a scratch on the thing. Amazing and affordable. It sounds as warm and cute as you'd expect a melodica to sound.
I highly recommend this fun little instrument for anyone from children to serious musicians. This is a great gift for someone you love or even yourself. This was a great self-birthday-present to myself and I haven't regretted it.

Very nice

I am very happy with this Melodica. I bought it to replace my 25 year old Hohner Melodica, and the difference in construction is notable. The touch of the new Melodica's keys is much better, the action is better. The sound is anout the same as my old one, which is what I expected. The gig bag exceeded my expectations. It's sturdy-seeming, zippered, short handle and a long strap. The hose is held in place by elastic bands, there's a little compartment for the moutbpiece. This was definitely worth the $45.
Lemon...Unbearably flat out of the box
Dr. Sam Psych•March 28, 2017
The quality of the sound is good, but out of the box it is horribly out of tune. Melodica's are supposed to be a tiny bit sharp (443) but this has at least 5-6 notes that fall more than 10 cents flat (429 & 430). Also, after playing with it for only a day, now some of the notes have hiccups (in the middle of playing a melody suddenly no sound comes from a key as if the reed is stuck, and then the sound scoops up!) which is very distracting, especially when playing faster songs. I don't know if it's moisture build-up or what, but I haven't had this problem too this extent with other (even non-brand) melodica's. Maybe this one is just a lemon!
The key action feels smooth when playing and is quite enjoyable.
Relative to what I paid and what I would pay for a Yamaha P-37, I will likely return this.

Great for beginners too

I am a musician for more than three decades and started recently with playing on melodicas. Despite the oddly hesitant reviews on the Hohner 32B's sound quality I gave it a try. My first impression is that the sound quality of the 32B does not lack any audibility at all. Compared with Yamaha's P25F and P37D, playing chords on the 32B works better. Playing chords on Yamahas does not work so well when playing four or even five finger chords. Playing four finger chords on the 32B I can still distinguish every single note in the chord. Playing four finger chords on Yamahas sounds warbling. The mouthpiece on the 32B is in a higher angle positioned than compared to the one on the Yamaha P37D. When blowing through the 32B's mouthpiece I still can see each key on the keyboard, which I can't when playing on the P37D. So as a beginner this helps tremendously. The quality of the 32B is good, it's body is made of plastic and the price of USD 45 reflects this as well. There are no air gaps so the blowing energy is directly transferred to the very responsive keys and reeds. The tone of the 32B is kind of mellow/crisp, but not harsh. Putting a different emphasis on the blowing creates a nice texture to the sound. The carrying case is made of high quality cloth material which I did not expect for such low priced instrument. Is this purchase a bargain? Yes, and it is reasonably priced. UPDATE DTD MARCH 15th, 2017: I have to return this Hohner Melodica because of heavy air leakage problems caused by its mouthpiece connection construction. Main issue is that the single mouthpiece sits too loose and needs a tighter fit on the blowing valve. As a result a lot of breathing energy is wasted. So I am not able to play the full 32 keys with one breathing, which I can do on my Yamaha P32. Also I am not convinced about the material quality on the long run. Some keys in the lower octave section sound flat to me. So I have to update my rating to a 3*.
