Keep in mind that this doesn't work so well for a double sliding door (with screen). You then have to keep on of them open a bit. Also, consider how wide the sliding door is. With this in there, not much room is left to slide past it when the door is fully open. With that said, it is a quality product. Original one was warped a bit in the middle, but Amazon sent another, which turned out fine.

We love this thing. Our aging dogs (chihuahua to lab mix) all took to using this immediately. The spring loaded top makes it easy to put into place and remove when we lock up for the night. The magnetic strip on the bottom of the flap holds it securely. However, it slides off without issue if you - like me - have an old, weak small dog. she uses it all of the time. Our dogs love the freedom and not having to beg at the door like they used to.

We love our new pet door. After we got new windows our old pet door was the wrong color and it had gotten old and worn out. Not only does this door match our new windows perfectly, it also fits the sliding door opening much better but with the same dimensions for the pet opening. It's not as wide as the previous pet door so we can actually squeeze out the open door around it without having to remove the door each and every time we need access to the patio. I see why they call it the Freedom pet door! Now I don't need to let my two in and out every five minutes. Even our 113lb Bernese Mountain Dog can get through easily. We took the latch off the inside jam to make it fit better and can replace that if we take out the pet door. Also, don't forget to clean your glass on your old doors (we didn't think ahead) because you won't have access to that overlapping area if you screw in the pet door. Very solid and the flap closes each time plus there is more room than we expected for people to walk through.

I like this product more than my husband. He doesn't think it leaves enough room to walk outside with food for the grill. We have not installed it permanently as he thinks it is in the way. The dog quickly learned to use this. I don't like that there is a very small gap on the sides of the flap so it won't be very good in the winter. Overall it is a sturdy piece and easy to put in and take out.
