I got this for a summer of 2014 driving/camping trip from Budapest (Hungary) to Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) through the swampiest parts of Russia & Kazakhstan we could find. Each night my traveling companions insisted on sleeping in a field, or near a lake, or eating watermelon - pretty much anything to encourage critters. I had read on Amazon prior to purchase that it's important for the netting to hang away from your skin, and I agree (since mosquitoes can bite through the netting). My cousin had a different brand without a rim, and he didn't fare so well. I used mine almost every day for about the 50 day duration, and I did not have a problem with it. I am soooo glad I had it, because even when the mosquitoes were biting through my socks and long underwear, my face survived.

Just so there's no doubt, this thing is flimsy and plasticky - but it worked! Of course, I took care to put it away during the daytime so that I wouldn't accidentally tear it. The bugs did not get in. If you want to eat while wearing this, it's a hassle and the biggest issue will be that a mosquito might get in while the spoon or fork is making its way to your mouth. Because it is so light, it's easy for the hat to get turned around on your head, which should not be a big deal since it's a circular hat - but it can make finding the strap awkward in the middle of the night. I slept in it a few times - I was always paranoid that while I was sleeping the netting would touch my face and then a clever mosquito would seize the opportunity, but I was lucky it never happened.
The netting seems like a thinner material as well

Haha! One size Fits MOST is right. It is small. I am small but have a bigger head with lots of hair and I was surprised at the fit. It does not have a wide brim. It does have a tie that goes under the neck so that would probably help in keeping the hat down. The material of the hat portion is very very thin fabric. But for $1.85, it will probably do the job that I need it to. The netting seems like a thinner material as well, but there were no holes or anything like that. The elastic that fits around the neck seemed okay. I will probably rework it and make my own.

You have to make a choice here, when getting this stuff sent direct from China. It will be very cheap, but it will not come to you fast. If you need it right away then order a USA product and pay a lot more. About the quality I gave it three stars because all mosquito nets are kind of cheezy, probably because mosquitoes are not very strong. These nets are about as good as any of them, and a hat is included in case you forgot yours. A good feature is a stiff ring around the neck area which works with the brim of the hat to keep the net away from your head so the little buggers can't bite you thru the net if it is against your skin. A chin strap (super cheezy) on the hat helps to keep things in place. Finally, there is an elastic band around the lowest part, to keep anything from flying up from the bottom. And it comes in my favorite color-- WWII camo. One minus feature is that it does not pack down very small. It goes flat, but you have to deal with the full round shape because of the stiff rings. I like Indiana Jones-type hats, so I will just keep it on the top of my hat until I need it. I got a bunch of them so that I can hand them out to the unwilling participants in my annual mosquito-infested brush poking walk-off-a-cliff rainy poison ivy hike in the woods, that only happens once per year for good reason because it is alway a disaster. Not because of mosquitoes though.

I purchased 10 of these for resale to my bee customers. The hat needs another hat worn on top to keep it on in high wind, and the chin strap is WAY TOO LONG. It should be elastic...it is not.

It is well made, and will keep bees, mosquitoes, etc away from your face...BUT bees can easily sting through the hat unless you are wearing another hat on top.

Great buy for a one size fits some (bit hat). I guess the Chinese think we all not only have big noses, but huge heads, as well.
