It is way way darker than the picture and it's got a shiny clear coat on it so it would be hard to sand and restain. The bottom of the storage is thin particle board

Very nice gloss walnut finish that matches the picture in the description well. Well constructed, sturdy bench. Easy assembly and super fast shipping. Note that there is a small "CPS Imports" screened in gold on one side of the bench. Not too noticeable, but not really appropriate for a piece of furniture this nice. All in all, a really great value.

This piano bench is just the right size and is very sturdy. Wood is glossy, but the top padding brings the shine down
so it better matches the color of my piano. My only caution is that it definitely takes two people to put the legs on.
You have to keep the top open while you attach the legs from the inside...so it was a bit tricky. But, when we finally got
it together, I was very pleased with the look and weight of the bench.
Still looks great, works great even after 4 or 5 years!

We've had this piano bench for about 4 or 5 years now... it STILL looks beautiful! It works as expected. The only thing I've had to do for it, is periodically tighten up the nuts/bolts that keep the legs attached to the seat. But I only have to do that about every 6 months, if that. Yes, I would still definitely recommend this piano bench!
