The barrier itself is very good. Comes well packaged, looks good and sits solidly once installed, doesn't rattle. I'm using it in a 2010 Forester.
The problem is the assembly and installation instructions. They're wholly inadequate. Others have noted that you have to be careful to make sure the legs are installed facing the right direction, but I also found that if you attach the legs to the barrier and then try to put the barrier in the car, you can't make it fit: the legs prevent you from moving the barrier into place. I had to remove the legs from one side, move the barrier into the car, then reattach the legs. Very frustrating.
Overall, this is a five-star barrier with two-star instructions.
