The Hugo quad pod cane is performing very well so far. I had used a single point offset cane years ago after hip replacement surgery, and tried using it again after fracturing my pelvis a week ago. Unfortunately, my current cane feels flimsy, like it will slide or bend, so I started looking for something more substantial. After going through the reviews for several canes, comparing advantages of each, as well as price, I decided on the Hugo. I got the smoke and love the color, the cane is well made and feels sturdy, the grip is very comfortable even with the arthritis in my hands, and the quadpod base keeps it upright and stable when I walk. I am very happy with it, and proud to use it in public, in spite of being very hopeful for its short time use. At least I know that it will be there for me if I need it in the future!

Works for me! Stands well on flat surfaces (lumpy carpet is a problem), but the design is perfect for me, 5' 11.5" and about 155lbs. I have/had fractured L2 vertebra, busted ribs, and two leg fractures and post-traction trauma on left side .
The plastic "pod" has not failed for me by breaking, and if the "tightener" is checked, there is not feeling of looseness or any excess noise.
I had no problem removing plastic wrap with manufacturer literature inside. The SMOKE color I bought sets it apart as bright enough to find but not garish. Wrist strap and handle design are both comfortable. I mainly carry this now for respect: it says to stay outside my space because I am not quite right, but I am no longer dependent on it, as I once was It is a good weight for carrying when not having to use it.

I just received this cane today and have been using it around the house. I chose it for the wonderful blue color and I love that, but there's more to recommend this cane. It easily adjusted to the correct height. I measured it along side my present cane which my physical therapist had set at the correct height for me. I have been using my HurryCane which is fine, but makes noise at the connection points and seems more wobbly than this Hugo cane. So I decided to get a more solid one. This is really a good solid cane. Also the base on my new Hugo cane is a bit larger than the base on the HurryCane. This makes it seem more stable and less likely to slip. It also stands on its own much better than the HurryCane. I can't wait to take it out and about to see if I get comments on the brilliant blue color.

In my opinion much better than the Hurrycane. This will stand where the Hurrycane will not. This can has a four footed bottom tip where the Hurrycane has only three. It will not stand 100% of the time on my saltillo tile floors as by design they are uneven, but all I have to do in that instance is take a little more time in placement of the cane and it stands. This has helped me to straighten up instead of hunch over as my single footed cane I would prop against my abdomen for it to stay in place while I was standing stationary here and there throughout the day. I have been using a cane for 4 years. I would buy this one again.

One of my friends had been looking for a cane to help him maintain his balance. We went to a Thrift store and found a similar cane that had a very large metal foot, but trying it out, he was prone to tripping on it so he asked me to order the one we had been seeing on TV. I couldn't find the commercial and didn't remember the name of the cane, but I finally found it by putting "˜as seen on TV' in the search.

The reviews on Amazon were OK, and I was going to order it until I saw this Hugo Mobility Quad cane and the reviews were much better (as was the price). After going to the website for the other cane, I found that there were a whole lot of unhappy customers, especially about the inability to have the cane stand on it's own and the fact that the foot didn't pivot well at all. Most of the reviews on the other canes site were "˜We'll look into that or keep working with it until it frees up.' I was really put off by the lack of concern that the other cane company seem to exhibit.

The only problem we had, was the foot came with the wider part across his step, so we pulled out the allen screw and turned it. This was not easy as the allen screw was very tight, but we finally got it and now he uses it every day and is very happy with it.
