Came Assambled in the box. Box is Broken , Stand Damaged Hardly. Threw it away.

I would give zero stars if I could. I bought this stand and the tank that came with it as a combo from a local pet store a few years ago. It got water damage in a fish tank mishap, and needed to be replaced. At the time, there was only 1 review for this item, and although it said that it was damaged upon receipt, I gave it a shot anyway. It arrived soooo damaged. Corners were dented and cracked. Screws were literally ripped out of the wood, and the wood was splintered. The whole thing was loose and falling apart at the seams. It looked easily 10 times worse than one I was trying to replace! It looked like it had literally been dropped down a flight of stairs!

I'm not sure why the other reviewers had to pay for return shipping, but I didn't. Amazon sent me a replacement for no charge, but guess what? You got it-that one was damaged as well! So I got a refund and sent the second one back, one again, at Amazon's expense.

This is an aquarium stand that it designed by the manufacturer to go with a specific tank that it 56 gallons in capacity. That will weigh about 500 pounds when full. The condition that this stand arrived in not only was unacceptable from a cosmetic point of view, but was in no way functional for its intended use, as I have no doubt that it would have collapsed under that weight, damaging my floors, house, and killing my fish in the process.

I judge that it is irresponsible of Amazon to sell this stand. They obviously can't handle shipping something so big and bulky, that also needs to be handled delicately. Also, it took way too long for them to pick up the damaged stands and issue my refund. I was originally told 2-3 business days, but it took about a week.

I found out from marineland's web site that this stand can be ordered through any of their retailers. So do what I did, and have your local pet store order it for you. You may have to put it together, but it's not hard, and will arrive in good, functional, new condition. Almost any pet store that has fish and aquarium supplies is a marineland retailer, as they are one of the most common tank manufacturers found in pet shops.

Amazon-STOP SELLING THIS ITEM IMMEDIATELY!!! You're doing nothing but creating bad will and wasting a ridiculous amount of materials and resources by running large pieces of furniture made out of particle board and treated with highly toxic chemicals. Thanks for making me send all that to a land fill! Some of us care about our environmental impact. I'll never order something like this from you again.

While it came already assembled, the connections were off and there was damage to the until making it unsuitable for placement in my living room (whether the damage happened with shipping or prior is unknown, but in any case the stand wasn't packed well). It's not stable enough for the door to close correctly, or for me to trust putting an aquarium or bird cage on it. I didn't bother to return it given the size and anticipated cost, but I do regret this purchase.

Arrived halfway broken.
