Bought the Copystars a few weeks ago and couldn't get it to work properly. I wrote a one star review. The company contacted me and offered to walk me thru what I had to do to get the machine to work perfectly. Since it was the holidays I put doing this off until today, January 4th. I called Copystars today and the man there was extremely helpful and helped me set up the machine to do what I need it to do. I looked for my bad review to eliminate it but can't find it. So, let this review be my final word on Copystars and on their service. Thanks, Copystars.

I started using the duplicator the a few days after I received it. The first disc I tried to copy was something that had been recorded a very long time ago on video tape that I transferred on a DVD. I tried to make a copy of it but the disc copier stopped at 74%. I had no idea why it stopped but I called Copystars immediately and spoke to a very knowledgeable gentleman named Raymond. I told me what probably happened and it made perfect sense to me since the original video camera was not the best but it did the job back in 1978. He also led me through the menu on the duplicator and set things up for me. Then he told about "Prescan" which took a look at the master disc to see if there was a problem, and there was. He told me how to carefully clean the disc and I tried it again and same thing which told me the disc or the recording was not the greatest. He was SO Helpful and made things so easy. I am now pre-scanning everything before I copy it which will save me a lot of discs. I just copied 6 discs and it was quick!! This is a wonderful product and anyone needing a copy duplicator this is the Rolls Royce of Duplicators. But more important this company, Copystars not only makes a terrific product, but they back it up with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you so much Raymond for taking the time to educate this senior, it is appreciated and a great way to start a new year.

I bought one of these units a while back to make copies of old family films that I first transferred from VHS/camcorder tapes to DVD. THAT was quite a task itself, taking weeks of every available moment I had in my life. (Had to be done in real time and needed to edit out some things). Now everyone wanted the easy to use DVD's, and as it was nearing christmas... I thought this collection would make a great present for everyone to have their own copies. But NO WAY was I going to put the TIME into redoing this again for multiple parties! So, I looked into the 'duplicator' arena, knowing absolutely NOTHING about how they worked. This unheard of company was receiving a lot of good reviews so I decided to give it a try, (plus the price was much less than many others). I received the product, set it up in a few minutes, (very easy to follow instructions), and put the first DVD in to copy. I walked away expecting it to take awhile, and when I walked by a few minutes later...it was done! NO WAY! I took the copy to the DVD player, put it in, and there it was...ALL of the first DVD! COPIED! IN MINUTES! I was amazed. So I continued copying and had all my Christmas gifts done in a few days, (I had more than 50 DVDs recorded). And it was so easy... I would do them while watching TV. Pop a blank DVD in, set the DVD I wanted to copy in, push a button, and within 1-2 minutes, it was done. Couldn't be any easier than that! I marveled over the time I saved compared to the weeks for the original set. And those that received them... Loved them! (they knew how long the original set took). Now I'm making copies for other people too. This is quite an amazing piece of technology. There's one down side though... formatting a DVD is important to this machine. It has to be done in the correct format, so check that your DVD's you want copied comply. (actually says it accepts most formats, but a few older DVD's I had would not copy, they were not a part of the 'Christmas collection'). That's the reason for the one star deduction. I have not needed the company to ask questions, but reviews say they are very responsive. Finally, NO... You Can Not Copy Copyrighted materials!!! They have a chip that prevents that, so this is primarily for your home movies, though I've heard they will record CD's....

This is absolutely the greatest! After going to store after store in our area in an attempt to duplicate Legacy Box DVDs for me and my family, I was ready to give up! They all wanted $19.99 and three weeks to make copies of the DVDs! I saw this product on Amazon and thought it would certainly pay for itself the first day. And OH did it do just that! Once it arrived, I set it up and made all 12 copies of my DVD in about an hour and a half. Each DVD takes about 5-8 minutes to duplicate. And they work perfectly in my Blue Ray. I sent out all the copies and surprised the whole family! I'm the hero who saved Nana and Grandpa's home movies! Fantastic product which I will make GREAT use of.

This just arrived yesterday I read the good reviews which is why I purchased it.
I opened it up and it's trashed. All bent up and scratched. UPS looked like they threw it off the building first.
I'm irritated because I have a deadline and I'm trying to finish a project this weekend. I call Copystars and after a bit of phone tag we talk and they are excellent. They do a diagnostic and amazingly the unit still work but they get the replacement sorted and a new unit is on the way instantly to arrive tomorrow, saturday. Super helpful full of good info, pointed to quality CD/DVD media suppliers and printers..
went from bad experince to good experience in less than an hour. Great job job guys.. thanks.

UPDATE Dec 2014 ok.. so I've used this unit approximately 3 times in the 6 months I've had it and it's failing on me. I'm doing a small run of 50 discs to hand out and 2 out of every 5 are blank even though it reads 5 Pass 0 Fail.
This means I have to check every single disc before I hand them out! Frustrated about this! Hope they can figure out the problem.
