I found this product disappointing. I watched online videos, read the directions and had a terrible time applying it on stripped oak. Finally, I sealed it (I liked their sealer) after stripping and sanding again, since it was so blotchy. Once the sealer was dried, the stain applied smoothly and I was finally able to get the look I wanted. For the price, I expected a better product. Eventually, I did get the look I wanted, but, have never had this problem before with other pieces. I wouldn't purchase it again.

Floor repair guys wanted $400 to stain a small repaired area because they would not be able to match the color of the old flooring that we inherited with the house and would have to experiment with stains. Since we would not be able to get an exact match anyway, we decided to save that money and do it ourselves. I wanted a stain without toxic VOCs, which is hard to find in the local stores, so I took a chance and ordered this online. My luck was great! It's a very close match to our old oak floors, is easy to apply, and has no toxic smell. I'm so glad I bought it! We saved a lot of money by purchasing a single bottle and we have stain left over.
Would be great to have description of actual color/color variations as this wasn't what I expected.

When I received it, I dabbed a bit on a sample piece of wood and it has far too much red. I know they say color can vary with different woods, but it's far too light and red for my usage. When I first applied it, while damp, my first thought was barn red. Then it dried to a lighter shade, but still too red. Didn't remotely resemble the square on the bottle on the website. I wish that manufacturers and sellers would give folks a vivid description of the color/variations folks can expect. Also, perhaps name the stains something that folks typically see and can relate to. All that being said, it appears to be a quality product and if I was looking for this particular color, it would be a great product to use. I think I'll try finding a cheap color match locally and then inquire as to what Saman stain would most closely match it prior to ordering again. Once that's determined, I think I'd like to give Saman another try.

I've been considering to try this, but I hesitated because I saw some negative reviews of this product. But this is the only one wood stain I can find that doesn't emit toxic odor and water base. I am working on wood in a small 1br apartment, so that it is crucial the ease of use and no smell. I used to use vinegar + steel wool, but the smell was horrible.
My honest review is that this is wonderful. It doesn't smell, I can wash brush with water, and easy to spread out the tint evenly on wood. I will definitely use again. The color look natural, too.

This stuff is GREAT!!! I used it to stain a bunch of handmade couch legs black and thought I "might" have enough for that and only bought one because of the price, kept my fingers crossed and ... well, I had a lot left so I also stained a custom wooden box and I still have more left over. I definitely got my bang for the buck with this. The coverage is very nice too, most places only took one coat and a few took 2 light ones on bare, raw wood. Noce black and feels like it will last well once dried. Highly recommend.
FYI: I wore plastic gloves to apply this, but even so I ended up with some on my desktop and arm. A little rubbing alcohol on a paper towel took care of both quickly.
