Great for small ponds
Cody Cunningham•October 1, 2017
Works like a dream! We have a 400 gallon outdoor pond on our deck and this filter really keeps up. If we go out of town and the water is a little dirty we usually have to do two cleanings the week we come back. But other than that it last about two to three weeks without needing another cleaning!
Five Stars

The hose for the UV makes it harder to remove filters to clean but otherwise excellent
This thing works.

When I installed this filter, water in our pond was brown. It is amazing how fast it cleaned the water and how clear it stays. As all things require maintenance it should not be unexpected to have to disassemble occasionally (about once every two weeks) to removed the filter media and flush with clear water.
Couple things went wrong.

The filter system on the inside works pretty good, however there are problems with the UV parts. They say you can place this underwater or outside the pond. I recommend now you place it outside the pond. I put it inside thinking if the hose disconnected the pond would not be drained. First the plastic cracked when trying to tighten the UV section to make sure water would not get in. I was sent a new part under warranty then later the new one leaked and the bulb has gone off and water turned green again. Not sure if the bulb is out or the electrical has shorted. I will looking for something else to clean my pond if it happens again.

This completely cleared my 1200 gallon pond within a week and a half. I could see the bottom...the only problem was my koi did not like being so visible and vulnerable. So I would unplug the UV part for a while to let the algae build up a bit, and turn the UV on once in a while. I am not sure if this is what killed the UV lamp, but it has clearly stopped working because I can't see anything now. I am currently on the hunt for a new lamp...but I still LOVE this product!!!
