I've been taking these for a while now and they help my eyes not be as dry. They say that there is no proof of it helping with it but I think it does for me. ((Who knows). Pretty much every female takes them too. Macular degeneration runs in the family. This is the cheapest I've found them. When I received them the box it was crushed up some. But within a few hours I had been refunded and had an apology. The service was great!!!
Watch out for expired bottles

My husband has Macular Degeneration and can't read the written word. In May we received 3 boxes that equals a six month supply. We made the mistake of not checking the expiration dates on the boxes. After finishing the first bottle we discovered that the second box had an expiration date of 09-2015. These pills are one month shy of 3 years out of date. This is unacceptable. Because each box contains a 2 month supply of pills (taking 2 a day) our window for returns has ended. It's apparent now that the reason the price is so low on these pills is because the seller sends expired pills. The third box has an expiration date of 2019.

I ordered the wrong product. The labeling for the AREDS 2 could be more unique because the 2 s small and the color change i found in the blue section of the label, being green for the AREDS 2 is not eye catching. I since found the chewable version of it in a retail store. Amazon might get this product. Thos with throat and stomach problems and swallowing difficulties need options such as chewable and liquid.
Not the product I thought it was!

The directions on the Amazon site says these are softgels and the dose is one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. That is not correct for this product. I've been taking PreserVision AREDS for over four years, and they have always been deep red softgels. This product is a very large orange tablet and the directions are to take TWO tablets twice daily. I hate taking pills, and the thought of having to take two of these dry tablets twice a day is very disturbing to me. Softgels are much easier to take than the dose indicated for these huge orange tablets.
Not for macular degeneration.

Returned because although it is advertised as "˜eye vitamin' they do not contain the one ingredient that is recommended for macular degeneration - lutein. Prompt refund given.
