this was a great item for my wheelchair bound neice who cant use her hands really too much as she has sma, but this she can interact with it and watch it spin and is colorful..she is enjoying it..
DANGER to toddlers until you remove the knob.

One year old absolutely loved it BUT he bit the knob off within 30 minutes of play. He held it and SHOOK with excitement! Too bad it is poorly constructed for small kids.
It seems to work just fine without the knob so I am upgrading the rating from 3 to 4 stars because this toy is just mesmerizing to our grandson and seems to be pretty sturdy now the knob is off. Knob is not needed for operation-- simply squeeze it or throw it and it stops or goes.
The cats like it too.

I use this as a "get the baby to stop crying" tool. It works. I agree with previous post as far as knob. it appears that it might come off but I yanked it hard as soon as I got toy and it was secure. I also discovered somthing else about this that's entertaining....it will work just was well when turned upside down or on its side....on its side is really unusual....
Light up, self-spinning top, fun for all ages.

This was a big hit this year. Right out of the box it works and my toddlers are having a blast with it! Even my 20 year old son thought it was cool and played with it for several minutes.

This thing is on my kid's "Top toys of all time" ... for the price, with the batteries, it's absolutely amazing. My kid has autism, and this hits every single mark. We're only on our second one, too. An unattended 12 year old can certainty take it apart and eventually break it because it does come apart without tools. But, who cares, it's dirt cheap. An amazing value. The fun per dollar ratio is fantastic.
