This has more to do with the dish itself than this particular product,as I haven't tasted rendang before,to judge this product. I heard good things on rendang online,and since I am always ready to try new dishes,I decided to give this a try. I tried beef cut into cubes and added potato and curry leaves other than the pastes provided. The end result was not something I expected.I expected a stronger and pungent flavor from the spice list provided on the description. But this turned out to be really on the sweet-soupy side.

My all time favorite Rendang!!! The Malaysian restaurant I use to frequent closed. Beef Randang was one of my favorites! This sauce packet has the exact same flavor. I put the beef in a slow cooker all day (with just beef broth to cover the meat) then prep the sauce according to the directions and then add the crock pot beef! FANTABULOUS!!!
