Key features

  • FOOT and ANKLE SUPPORT: Plantar Fasciitis, PTTD, Peroneal Tendonitis, ankle sprains and rolled ankles are caused by weakened or torn tendons. The Trilok is made from three main components that mimic your body's natural tendons to secure your ankle and allow a safe range of motion. These straps encourage healthy arch posture, and prevent inversion and eversion.
  • CALCULATED COMPRESSION: The micro-fleece lined compression sleeve is a comfortable way to reduce swelling in the foot and ankle after an injury. Compression also improves recovery time, increasing blood flow to bring nutrients to the site of the injury.
  • PREMIUM COMFORT: The Trilok is made from soft Hypo-Allergenic materials that are breathable and low profile, rather than bulky, suffocating canvas braces. The Trilok allows for active mobility but restricts harmful movements making it perfect for sports and regaining mobility.
  • FIT and SIZING: Measure around your arch at the thickest point and compare this measurement to the size chart shown in the second image. Then measure the circumference of your leg right above your ankle and make sure this measurement is below the maximum ankle circumference.

Best Brace so far for PTTD
Hawthorne✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 7, 2017
This is the only brace that really works for my PTTD. I did need to watch the instruction video to get the hang of how to position it effectively for my condition. Learning the proper technique is essential. I agree it sounds complicated at first and I'm not adept at this type of thing. But spending the 20-30 minutes of understanding how it works and how to apply it for your specific condition is well worth it. It really is NOT difficult-stop and sgtart the video as needed. I've been wearing it daily for a few weeks and it's now a breeze to put on. It does take a couple of minutes which is time well spent if you have a painful condition like PTTD.

I had tried a variety of pull on, lace up and velcro strap braces. All of them are useful for some conditions. But when you have a condition like PTTD you need a specific type of support which this brace allows. I did occasionally put it on too tightly when I was first using it. I soon learned it didn't need to be painfully tight to be effective. Like most things, proper use involves some trial & error.

I'm heading out to CO for two weeks and hope to hike daily with the help of this brace and supportive hiking boots. There are so many braces out there and I greatly benefited from the reviews of others with PTTD who recommended this brace. I certainly agree with their positive recommendations.
Excellent brace for PTTD/accesory navicular

I have an accessory navicular bone that gives me chronic PTTD, which is unfortunate because I'm ridiculously active and I hate wearing shoes. I've tried KT tape, Rock tape, leukotape and neoprene braces. This brace is the first device that has provided me the support my foot/ankle needs. I found the instruction video helpful and after practice, it now takes me about 30-45 seconds to put on. My first few times took a few minutes, I think seven actually.

I mostly wear it on my bare foot for kickboxing and Muay Thai but I've also worn it hiking/jogging with my Hokas which are pretty roomy shoes. This brace is better than most in that it doesn't dig into the bottom of my foot like other neoprene braces. If you're discouraged by the application process, just consider that it's waaaay easier than basket weave athletic taping. It also won't rip up your skin like leukotape.

I recommend machine washing it in a small mesh bag as the Velcro on this sucker is not kidding around. I've probably washed it about 30 times and the Velcro and stitching are still good.

Definitely worth the effort and money!
An exceptional brace

I originally bought this for my left foot, I had pretty severe posterior tibial tendonitis so my doctor put me in a walking cast for 6 weeks and now I've been advised to use an ankle brace. This brace has worked for me by supporting my arch and taking pressure off my healing posterior tibial tendon. During my recovery process however, I developed a sore spot on the back of my right heel (acute achilles tendonitis) and so I repurchased this product for that problem and it definitely worked for me AGAIN! Many people in the reviews were upset that the brace itself is too complicated to put on, my advise is to watch the video tutorial for those of you who can't/won't read a manual. Personally, this was a piece of cake for me.

CONS: After reading other reviews, I decided to purchase a medium size for myself because many reviewers complained that the sizing ran small and I can reconfirm with the rest of you reading this that it is definitely true. According to the size chart, I should've ordered a small but honestly the medium feels comfortable for me - it is tight but not unbearably tight, I got used to it.

I will update this review and let you all know if anything changes, if I get better or worse with the brace, etc., as my healing continues.
No Pain No Limping Anymore - Thank God!!!

This is my very 1st review on Amazon and I have been a customer for over 10 years. I paid full price for this Trilok Ankle Brace and I have not been promised anything for my review. However, this brace was such a lifesaver for me, I wanted to share my experience in case someone else is suffering and needs some honest input. I shattered my right ankle in 6 pieces, and completely dislocated it in a nasty fall 8 months ago. I will spare you the fear and agony and just tell you I had 3 surgeries on the ankle including placement of plates and 19 screws. One screw was left in for 3 months to immobilize the ankle so the bones could heal, then was removed in surgery. The other 18 screws are permanent. I was in a wheelchair for 6 months, then a walker and a cane. I am in my 50's and was scared that this is my life going forward: limping and being in excruciating pain since the day I fell. You see my finicky tummy does not tolerate any pain meds except for over the counter Tylenol and icing the ankle. 3 months after the last surgery, the surgeon told me I must be a big wuss because I was not supposed to be in pain any longer. Well my ankle had not gotten the memo:-) I left the doctor feeling hopeless and dejected. I had spent a small fortune on various types of braces but kept going back to wearing the clunky removal cast which enclosed my leg from knee to toe, because putting any weight on my right foot was simply unbearable without the Frankenstein cast. I was browsing Amazon and became intrigued by the Trilok Ankle Brace and decided to try it. I would try anything to get my mobility back. When it arrived, I didn't use it for 3 days because it had many straps and looked so complicated. Being in severe pain, I went to the Bioskin website to watch a video on how to use it. The video also showed how your uninjured ankle and foot is supposed to be held together by various tendons and muscles wrapping around the bones. The video showed how the Trilock imitates the functions of your natural tendons and muscles to wrap around your foot to make it feel like your own natural support system. I honestly didn't believe them but decided to try it anyway just in case. Well after strapping my foot into this brace I decided to try and stand up holding on to my husband in case I fell. To my surprise, there was NO PAIN for the 1st time in 8 months. I didn't trust it still because I have had my hopes dashed so many times. I was able to put on my sneakers and even a pair of wide flats with this brace on. After a couple of days of walking around the house with no pain, I was able to get on my stationary bike. After a few days, I felt confident enough to go for a short walk around my neighborhood ALONE for the first time in 8 months. It has been two weeks now and it is still helping and when I take it off I can actually walk short distances in the house without the brace. You never realize how much you value your feet until something happens to them. This brace is not cheap. But the Trilok has done what the Physical Therapist has not been able to do so far: I am not limping!!! And I now have hope to regaining my autonomy and mobility. I can see myself trying to drive in a couple more weeks. The Physical therapist is delighted with my progress. Whoever created this must truly care about people in pain and in my book must have been inspired from above. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Mrs. Yolette Cherubin, a real verified buyer.
If you have to wear an ankle brace, this is the one you want.

This is my 5th ankle brace for this injury, and this is by far the most supportive. My only complaint is that the sock part of it is so tight that when my foot is swollen, the brace digs in and is extremely uncomfortable. After a long day, I tend to take it off and throw it across the room. But the flip side is that brace isn't falling apart like the others, it's so supportive that I can shuffle faster and further than I could with my last four braces. And the brace is ok with being thrown across the room, it forgives me every morning as I put it back on.
If I have to go for brace #6, I'll order another one of these.
