Excellent Muzzle that Prevents Licking
ERG✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 4, 2018
I've got a male dog (Welsh Terrier) that licks everything in his environment and it causes tummy and GI upsets, especially in winter when sidewalks etc., are salted. I ordered one of these and liked it so much, ordered another. It allows him to breath unobstructed and get a sniff in, but licking or heavy licking is not possible. He fussed a bit initially, but then decided it was okay and now just troops along with it in place.

The muzzle is a bit stiff out of the package and so I took the hair dryer to it, warmed it up and molded it into a more relaxed shape-this worked well.
nice quality, well intended soft muzzle that I have ...

nice quality, well intended soft muzzle that I have no doubt would prevent my lab from eating rabbit poop all the time. But there is no plausible way that the simplistic single nylon strap would in any way secure the muzzle on a dog's head. it simply slips over ears, or under her chin depending on how you try to put it on. I'm now trying to figure out how to jury rig attach the thing to her collar to keep it on.

UPDATE. can I give 0 stars? This is an excellent muzzle for a fencepost. It would stay nicely on one. But a dog, no way. I've tried everything, and my lab makes a mockery of me. She pulls it off immediately, because there's a pile of rabbit s**t that needs to be eaten. I'm beyond frustrated. I think I'm furious.

2nd update: If you entangle the strap around the back of a prong collar (a loose one is best), then it won't slip off. Finally, no more poop eating. But still only 1 star for product performance straight out of the box.
Nothing like the photo.

I ordered a M as listed for a Beagle. The photo shows the item I thought I was ordering. But what I received is a much different shape, and the straps are located differently as well.It seems it was made for a long snout also. Not sure if I will be able to use it or not on my Beagle.
Otherwise it's great!!

This muzzle worked out exactly as I hoped and needed! My Golden Retriever (60 lbs) eats everything in sight when we're out for walks or hikes. After two expensive emergency vet bills for possible blockages, I knew I needed to find a solution. After trying 2 other muzzles (which allowed for giving him treats while we walked, got him used to wearing a muzzle, but also were either too cumbersome or allowed him to still pick up things in his mouth) this muzzle does the trick! He can pant some while wearing it, but I do take it off if he needs to pant very much. Otherwise it's great!!
Sizzing Issue - Very Disappointed

I was pleased to get this muzzle today, but the large covers my dogs eyes. I am a bit hesitant to order the medium, but I think I like the muzzle, very soft and seems it might be comfortable for my 55lb Colle/Aussie mix. My objective is to keep her from licking her lower leg causing hot spots. She manages to pull off every bandage I put on her. The Baskerville Ultra large is too large, but the Baskerville Ultra medium is too small! I tried it on her in the pet store. The Pro-guard was not available in the brick & mortar so here I am on Amazon. I will see how the medium works and will get back to upgrade my review

Update: 01/05/17: The medium arrived today, and unfortunately it is too small for my dog. I am very disappointed. It was a waste of money to purchase both the large and the medium, so I had to change the rating. I didn't want to say I hated it, but neither fits and I can't use them so I down-graded the rating. My dog pulled the muzzle off twice, even when I looped it through her collar. I was hopeful, but it wasn't meant to be. Good concept, but not functional for me.
