exactly what we needed post-surgery
akincl✓ Verified Purchase•January 27, 2018
I purchased this for my 65-lb bulldog, who just had TPLO surgery and has to be confined to rest for 8 weeks. This is exactly what we needed. I had a puppy play pen that was too short; he could jump over it, so we needed something taller. We set this up in our family room so he can have more room that being in his crate. This has enough room for a large dog bed plus food, water, and a couple toys inside. We decided not to put the top on it as it was tall enough to keep him inside without it. Without the top on, we were able to adjust the angles a bit so that it's not sitting as a perfect octagon, so it fits in the corner of our family room pretty well. Each corner still has to be angled, but not as much as shown. Each "wall" is a separate piece that is held together by connectors at the top and bottom. The walls are metal and quite sturdy. The connectors are just plastic. There is a "window" section that can be opened and used as a pass-through to reach in, but we haven't used it. There is a door latch made of metal that holds the door closed. So far it's working really well for us. I'm glad I purchased this!
Too cheap, falls apart.

I would have returned this but it was heavy and I needed something right away. It requires a solid level surface, if it does not it falls apart. Everything clips together, there is no fasteners, so if you have a roudy or smart dog they could EASILY make take the thing apart. It's a bummer because if the thing was fastened by metal hinges It would be the best, everything is made well, but the hinges are plastic! My dog chewed through right away so we had to zip tie the thing. Plastic is never good!
Not for headstrong dogs, waste of money

So...to start, the panels were very easy to put together. The top canopy not so much... came out uneven as the small metal bars just would not go in. My dog seemed to love it & went in with ease & enjoys just laying in there. Problem was, he didn't like being in there when I wasn't home.
Lasted 5 days before my dog tore through the canopy and climbed out. Modification #1... removed canopy & added chicken wire to top. Dog in turn learned to pop out plastic parts that hold panels together & got out again. Modification #2... added chicken wire around panels to hold them together. Dog in turn learned he could lift the kennel and get out from underneath. Modification #3.... added weights to hold down kennel as I had seen another reviewer do this. Dog in turn tore through chicken wire and popped out panels again while also cutting his face a little.
Long story short.... if you have a smart dog who is also strong... this will NOT hold him. He will find a way.
On a positive note... it has been a somewhat good training tool as he now understands the command "go to your house" & will go in there & stay in while I'm home & need him out of the way for a bit. He just refuses to stay in if I am not home...

Great product! This is my 2nd one! Sets up quickly and lasts! I use for chickens mostly- just add chicken wire around the lower half with zip ties, and they cannot get out- no matter how small. Stick a piece of wood thru the cage at height preferred for an instant roost! I usually set up inside my barn, but have used outside in grass as well-
Best if you move with 2 person lift- stays perfectly intact!
E-Z to clean- hose off if you need to.
Definitely worth the money- my first one is maybe 5 years old and in great condition!
Love it! and will buy another one as need arises!

Study, but it doesn't block the sun for very long.

The top cover didn't last long. A wood roof or even a hard plastic one would have been better than the plastic.... ^__^ one that came with it.
