Easy and great quality popcorn from a kettle popper

I feel like I've become a bit of a popcorn aficionado. Over the years I've tried several different brands and ingredients and methods. Always trying to achieve that perfect "movie popcorn". Eventually I started buying these all-in-one packs because they were just easy and contained the right amounts of the different ingredients and I didn't need to keep huge containers of kernels and Flavacol and coconut oil in my pantry. I recently switched from a whirly-pop maker to a kettle style popper and the brand that I had previously been using didn't work as well in the kettle and I was getting a weird burned taste. Not knowing if it was the kettle popper causing the burned taste, I switched brands and gave Jolly Time a try. Turns out, it wasn't the kettle itself but something about that other brand...the burned taste is gone! This stuff pops up fluffy and has a great flavor! A couple downsides though...If I use the full amount of salt that is included...it's a tad on the salty side so sometimes I'll just use a portion of the salt. And it also tends to have quite a bit of unpopped kernels. However, the quality of the popcorn that DOES pop is good enough that I overlook the ones that don't pop.
Disappointingly Stale

Very disappointed with this popcorn. We bought a case and it is stale. Now I have a case of popcorn we can't use. Use caution to make sure before you open it that you check the date.
Yummy!

I am now a true fan of this popcorn all in one brand. The only down side is the place that you have to cut to remove the oil is separate from the salt and the popcorn. makes for a messy pair of scissors. But the popcorn is so good that I can and did overlook this little flaw.
I have an 8 ounce Great Northern popcorn machine

I have an 8 ounce Great Northern popcorn machine. I have had it a couple of months now and we seem to always have popcorn in it. I have tried the Orville Redenbacher popcorn, the great northern kit, Amish country gourmet, and this Jolly Time kit. The nice thing about the kit is that everything is pre-packaged and you don't have to measure everything. And, the Great Northern and Jolly Time kits are less expensive. I really don't notice a big difference, if any, between the Great Northern and the Jolly Time kits as far as taste. Both are very good popcorn and I would recommend either one.
One thing I have noticed is, when the oil in the kit is solidified, the Jolly Time seems to be a little easier to squeeze into the popper kittle than the Great Northern, because of the way the package is designed.
FYI, another thing I have found using the popcorn machines is that there seems to be a lot of moisture build up when the corn is first popped, which kind of gives it a Styrofoam texture. But, by leaving the heat lamp on it dries up the moisture and keep the popcorn nice and crispy"¦..Great Snack!!!

My favorite so far.

I have tried many different brands for my popcorn machine. This one is my favorite. I wasn't sure if I liked the salt separately at first, as most of the prior ones had the salt in with the kernels. If you don't like a lot of salt or any salt, then you can just not add it. So, it is a nice option. I really like the flavor of this popcorn. Most of it pops well.
