pleased to say it does.

Very happy. I had to replace my old Reed & Barton chest because of an accident. I was expecting that the new one would not be the same quality as my old one. But I am pleased to say it does.
Timeless piece by a great company.

This is a top notch quality silver chest that will last a lifetime. On Black Friday 2015 I scored a killer deal on some Waterford stainless flatware. I over the days of polishing silver for hours on end before a dinner party. The Waterford set is service for 12 so I needed a place to store and protect my "company" flatware. After shopping around I decided on this chest. It arrived promptly and I could not be happier. It is a beautiful piece that I am proud to display in my dining room. It easily holds service for 12 in the top with a drawer on the bottom for your serving pieces. If you'd like to have the brass plaque with your monogram, you'll need to purchase it separately on Reed & Barton's site. Personally, I didn't to that, but up to each person's preferences. If you are storing silver, the interior felt is treated to be tarnish resistant. That does not mean you'll never have to polish again! Thus, the reason I gave up on silver years ago.
and it holds them all nicely. The chest is also quite good looking

This was a very well made chest with lots of storage room. I have a set of sterling with over 12 place settings and several serving pieces, and it holds them all nicely. The chest is also quite good looking.
Misleading Photo

Agreeing with other buyers, I find this to be a very nice case.
However, the photos of this and other Reed and Barton silverware chests show a brass plate on top.
Mine did not come with one. Inside there was a card listing a non-functional wed address where one could be purchased from Reed & Barton..
Solution: I ordered one on E-Bay, and brought this to Amazon customer service, and fair compensation was provided. Thanks!
The representative said she'd have the issue of misleading photos reviewed.
Good chest, iffy packing

There was a time when every flatware manufacturer made a quality chest to protect their products. Today, many of them look 10x better in the photos than in real life. Fortunately, Reed & Barton seems to be the exception, and this case seems worthy to store $500+ of special-occasion flatware. The hardware is well finished, and the drawer pulls out smoothly, with slots for additional flatware. (I was expecting just a plain, empty drawer.) Both sections use tarnish-resistant felt covering. The finish of the wood itself is what I'll call 'Ethan Allen grade.'

The upper area has 9 slots for silverware, plus a piece with thin slots in the front for additional pieces (knives). As seen in the photo, there is room for 12 knives in the top. The lower drawer has 8 more slots for serving pieces, etc., with slightly wider spacing between the slots. I see no reason why it would not fit a service for 12 plus any serving pieces that one could have.

The only complaint I have is the manufacturer's packaging. The corrugated box, itself is OK; however, the inner packing consists of two poorly-made Styrofoam ends. There are many different grades of foam; this box used the softer type, which tends to turn to pellets over time when it bounces around during transit. One of the ends was 50-60% disintegrated; the other one was cracked in 3 places. This is a fine piece of woodwork, meant to last a lifetime in one's home, and it would seem that better packing materials are in order. It's a testament to the build quality of the product itself that none of the foam issues caused damage to the chest. However, had I wanted to return the item, I would have needed to re-pack it in something else; the Styrofoam is completely worthless at this point.
