Arrived before sunset. Brand new in box. Nothing missing. Great kit. They hooked it up Bandai style. I need more kits. Hope neighbors don't freak out when I fire the Wave Motion Gun. So happy.
Great kit: Expert skills may be required.

Well, if you're looking for a modeling challeng, the 1/1000 scale Yamato is definitely going make you want to get a magnifying visor (should be standard tool for most modelers, anyway), and brush up on your painting skills -- as in your micro-size painting skills. The tiny fighter jets included in this model are smaller than your pinky's finger nail, and to paint them you will need magnification and very steady hands.
I recommend painting everything before assembly. the good thing about Bandai's execution of this kit is that the red water-line section of the ship is a separate assembly than the upper deck section. Though models today are molded in color (and sometimes pre-painted), I believe better results come through painting with acrylic, anyway. The colored plastic is just a guide for more advanced modelers.
The many tiny laser-AA guns on the deck are extremely tiny, so watch out when you cut them from the tree!
Many will love the detailed fighter bay. You can build it into the ship and leave the hull panel off, or you can have it displayed outside on the stand. Baindai gives you many choices for building this, and they even anticipated people that might want to light it.

Outstanding Quality!

I haven't seen a kit in this size and price range so well put together in a long time. I'm about halfway through the build and haven't found any deformations or warped parts. There's almost no flash anywhere. And what flash there is can be removed by lightly dragging an Xacto across it and all you'll get is a thin little hair of plastic.
If you need it, I've found that someone translated the instructions into English at this website;

Great model.

Great!
I love the fact that the parts snap together. You always need glue, specially with the small parts, but because the parts snap together, is easier to build and you are not going to have any problem putting the parts in the right place.
You don't need to paint it neither, the colors of the plastic are perfect. Just two colors, but the final model looks great!
