Leak free and convenient but will break with light frost
M.M.C.✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 6, 2023
These fittings worked well all summer and are very handy, but I neglected to get them off the hose before we had a sudden, light frost. They all cracked, necessitating replacement. Other than that, they provided good, leak-free service.
These ALL BRASS quick connectors are great, Fit perfectly to the hose ends

These ALL BRASS quick connectors are great, Fit perfectly to the hose ends, as well as They Fit Perfectly to Each Other.
I had read so many reviews of tis type connector lately, I lost track!
But somewhere, I read of someone complaining that they fit "loose" / or "they leak" , That Is NOT the case with these.
2 points I would like to point out though
1, the Female coupler, does Not stop the water flow, when Uncoupled from the Male end (I knew that from the picture)
2, they do Not inter change with "Gardenia Brand Couplers/ Hose sysyems"
3, Also Unlike the Gardenia Brand, you have to pull the outer ring on the female coupler back, inorder to make the coupling to the male, it is Not
where you can simply push the male tito the female.
All of which, are Fine with me, just Different
( I do wish they would interchange with the Gardenia Brand)
Good solid product

Good solid product.
No rust and no leaks so far after a few month of use and about 30 or so connects/disconnects.

Advice: do not over-tighten this when screwing on the bib, otherwise rubber ring is pushed too far out and you'll have problem inserting male piece into it.
Very nice.

I bought nelson quick disconnects 40 years ago. Still using them. Washers need to be replaced every year. I bought a new Nelson last year on Amazon and they modified the design, added an o-ring. As another reviewer mentioned this modification ruined the Nelson part. Thanks to that reviewer for recommending this Dixon part. Its PERFECT. The Nelson male fitting works. Its a drop-in replacement for the old Nelson part. Quality is excellent. Price is good. Thanks Dixon.
Heirloom Brass

These units were purchased to make using low-level sill cocks less of a hassle. Do they cost more than the plastic equivalent? Yep, but they'll be heirlooms.
One note of caution: If you live in a freeze-prone part of the country, make sure any exterior quick connect fittings do NOT have flappers in them. Even if you have frost proof sill cocks, the water trapped inside the sill cock by the flapper will freeze and cause damage you don't want to deal with.
