Outstanding. Expensive and worth it.

Beautifully made, high-precision pressure cooker. I could not be happier with this purchase. The steam pressure management system is ingenious and works extremely well. It comes with a small cookbook that has a side recipe for shrimp risotto: Takes four minutes at pressure to cook it, and uses residual heat to cook the shrimp.
Con:
The only thing I can complain about is that one must hold the steam release valve open by hand for 10 minutes when canning with this unit. But it's a pressure *cooker* and not a pressure *canner*, so one cannot fault the device for not doing what it wasn't designed to do.

I previously bought a Fagor, per ATK's recommendation. It was a piece of C****. Seal kept leaking steam and valve kept dripping liquid. Even after multiple attempts to re-set seat.) This Fissler operates the way I expected a pressure cooker to, right out of the box. Operation is quiet. Pressure indicator makes it easy to judge heat. Very well engineered. Easy to clean and reassemble pressure and valve mechanisms. Perfect!
No better pressure cooker on the planet.
