I like it. Right now I'm using it as a table cloth given the summer activities. It did have fold wrinkles, but I turned it over and steam pressed the wrinkles out. Afterward it had a puckered look to it but that's fine. It's water proof and will protect the table's finish. I haven't opened the longer cushioned table protector as I've not had a need to use the table inserts yet, but I'm assuming it will be the same as this one.
Very useful to protect table top.

Excellent for under tablecloth to protect wood from spills. Lots of wrinkles, don't come out with warm iron on fuzzy side. Also use them for under 1/4" glass protecting windowsills from cat hair/drool. With time and patience, the wrinkles pretty much resolve and are not seen through the glass.

Concerning the folds many reviewers seem to complain about. They are not permanent! Iron on the felt side with appropriate heat iron using STEAM until the creases disappear. Try to keep the product flat while it is drying from the steam. Once dry, ROLL onto a cardboard tube and store. I used a tube from the fabric store when I bought home decor fabric. Since the product has a vinyl fluid proof side, this cover does not need to be laundered with every use. Just wipe it down, let it dry and roll it up. Its not rocket science.

These were exactly what I was looking for - thicker than most with flannel backing. I laid them both out on a metal picnic table and ironed out the packaging creases ON THE FLANNEL SIDE using a spray bottle and low heat & they smoothed out perfectly. For storing, I wrap them around a long, heavy duty cardboard tube - eliminates future ironing. They can easily be cut to fit the shape of your table.
Packaging Ruins the Product

I'm sorry that I cannot give this a good review. As a few other people mentioned, the product packaging ruins the product. I spent 2 hours trying to iron it out, and it just can't be done. If it weren't for the tight folding in the packaging, this would be an acceptable pad. It seems that it would be easy for them to use some kind of cardboard form to wrap this around and prevent the permanent creases.
