The sizing seems to actually be midway between the stated size and the next size up. I am a 6 7/8, but the 6 7/8 is a little too big, whereas the 6 3/4 fits better, but is just little too tight.

This is my first stiff hat
I went to a western store to try on smaller sizes and decided that 7 3/8 is correct.what I recommend is to go one size smaller 7 1/4 then stretch it out. My hat has a small gap at the sides. I also placed a foam rubber strip across the front which helped the fit. One thing I know is that too tight will cause headaches.
Overall the hat looks great, I'm gonna be vigilant with crosswinds
The color won't clash with workaday yuck that tends to gravitate to hats.

It was just a little big, I always but 7 1/4 and this Stetson really needed to be 7 1/8 but it's not worth my effort to return it. I'll just put a spacer inside hatband.
