A must have for the cowboy in you great price great quality AAA

This is a great hat, but a few notations must be made. First, I bought this to replace an older one I bought a few years ago. The main reason for this purchase is because the other one shrank a little. Over time the leather will shrink especially if you sweat or get it wet too much. The leather is still in great condition though. I purchased a medium this time and it fits a little larger which will be perfect. However, the band is off center a little bit and is also not as shown. The band my hat came with does not have the diamond stud between the two circular ones, instead there is simply a third round stud in its place. The band still looks great but I prefer the diamond personally. The band is also sewn in place so it you want to adjust or replace it you're going to have to do some cutting of threads which I may or may not do. I will say though that I always got lots of compliments on the hat prior to getting the new one and I am sure I'll get many more again!

I purchased this hat for a theatre costume. It was perfect for my needs.

My head is a little over 24" around and the XL size fit a little snug to start with but between the heat of the stage lights and the sweat off my head the hat soon stretched itself a tiny little bit until it fit perfectly.

The rim of the hat has a metal wire in it that helps it keep whatever shape you give it. So if you fold up or down any side of the brim it will stay put. When I opened the box it came in the sides were folded up as in the picture, and the back had a little fold up as well, I actually liked the look and so left it that way for the entire run of the show.

I'm not sure exactly what was done to give the hat the distressed look but it looks like it was brushed with something, maybe different color leather dyes... It's really only noticeable up close. From even a few feet away you don't notice any of the brush effects, it just looks discolored/distressed.

If you intend to wear this outside I would recommend getting some leather protecting spray. The hat does not appear to have any oiling to it whatsoever.

Overall I really liked the hat and am actually kind of sad that I won't have a lot of reasons to wear it anytime soon.

Fits true to size and is expected to last a very long time.
