I have three 8.5 pound fryers. I use this pot with a filter and frame to strain and store the fryer oil. This works great. The oil can be poured back into the fryer or stored for later.
The lid locks down with latches same as a tool box uses. And the handles on the side make it easier to move.
This pot is sturdy and I think it makes hot fat just a little bit safer to deal with.

we've got a food truck that we fry chicken nuggets in and needed something to drain the hot oil into so we could safely drive around with it, and this works absolutely perfectly. no oil ever sloshes out and with it sitting on a rubber mat floor, it doesn't move around at all.
