up and running every thing is working good

Prior to ordering this kit, I had zero electrical knowledge and zero solar knowledge. I didn't even know which component would connect to which component. So I had to do some very basic research to understand how it all connected together. It arrived in separate boxes but all on the same day, with an instruction booklet for each component - an instruction booklet for the panels, an instruction booklet for the charge controller, and an instruction booklet for the inverter. The cables were intimidating because I had no clue where/what/how the cables connected. Learning how to connect everything took a lot of reading, and re-reading. Most of the information in the instruction booklets seemed like it was written for larger systems, but you have to read through it all to get the important information. For instance, the charge controller comes straight from the factory all ready to connect, and among the many pages of detail, there is a very handy diagram showing where the MC4 cables go IN, and where the cables going from the charge controller to the inverter go OUT. Long story short, eventually I got it running. I made my own ground mounts from wood, and it was running well for about 3 weeks when suddenly my inverter readings were consistently around 11.6 instead of 13.8 (using 2 12V batteries). So I called Grape Solar, explained my problem, and they sent me a new charge controller. I will send the old one back to them to be tested. Grape Solar is a great company, very responsive and helpful and knowledgeable. Someday I will expand this system, and I'm confident that the people at Grape Solar will help me.

Extremely pleased with this kit. I had little electrical and zero solar experience, yet I found this system to be very easy to set up. I live in Hawaii, so we have an abundance of sunshine year round. In my small cabin, I now run LED lights, a fridge, charge drill batteries, etc. I have four Interstate GC2-XHD-UTL 6volt golf cart batteries. The charge controller indicates the battery bank is fully charged around 10 am.

I have really enjoyed getting this little system set up as a backup power source for our remote but grid powered cabin. Since our power often goes down for 1-2 days at a time, I purchased this system to power essentials during the down time. Right now it powers my refrigerator and wireless router whenever the sun is shining for more than 10 hours a day. Coming from a non-electrical background, I found the contents and instructions fairly easy to understand and put together. Customer Service was OUTSTANDING! I called at 6pm standing in the aisle of Home Depot trying to decide if I needed ground the system. A well informed and polite person answered my call right away and had solid answers to all my questions. I absolutely did not expect that.

Things to consider: This system is very affordable, but represents only 1/4 of what I actually spent to get the whole system up and running.
Remember that you (may) need to buy Batteries ($$$), panel racks ($$) and associated hardware, battery box, battery vent system, grounding system(s), extra wire and MC4 connectors, conduit, maybe a pipe bender, etc.
Depending on your application, this kit includes the hard to source stuff you won't find locally. Just my two cents to be prepared to spend a whole lot more money on a complete system.
