This is the only food our German Shepherd can eat due to allergies. If you check ingredients on other dog food labels even the limited ingredient foods have flaxseed or soy added. I hope NR never changes their recipe. We feed it to all of our dogs and they all have soft beautiful coats.

We have been feeding our german shepherd and chow mix this food for many years. It seems to help them not have the allergic reaction that the vet suspected was a corn allergy . This does not contain corn. It gets good ratings for nutrition from independent dog food evaluation site. ( I looked it up long ago and can't remember the site.) Our dogs will eat it dry but we always mix it with a bit of canned food . So nice to get it delivered instead of hauling it ourselves from the pet supply stores and the price works out better too.

Excellent product! The Healthy Skin recipe actually made dog ownership even better. My beautiful hound doesn't smell like (according to my ex) a 'dumpster dog' anymore. What's more, my things have lost that classic dog owner fragrance. Shall I go on? ...there are no more SBD friendly fire incidents from my dear friend these days. I understand some proteins are notorious for this. (I'm lookin' at you, chicken!) We tried both vegetarian and venison, but the big unforeseen bonus with the venison is that there is a smaller amount of waste and, therefore, far less urgency to get her out to potty. Did someone say happy hour? Oh, and the fact that I can just order it on Amazon instead of stopping by the pet store for a 30lb bag is unbelievable. Thank you!!!
Bottom line, I look at it as setting my dog up for success. There is no urgent rush home to let her out these days since there is a near zero risk of accidents and when we do go out people are not recoiling from the funk so she gets petted like a pedigree.
