Works as described, if the red cap didn't fall off and remain in my outlet socket, I'd give it 5 stars!
Dummy Indicator Lights - Cool, but does it really work?
Power TDecember 9, 2016
My 2014 X3 has the cigarette lighter that is still active if the ignition is turned off. Oddly, it still showed RED flashing. I know that battery was not completely dead. So I connected it to the CTEK MUS 4.3 charger. I really like that the Comfort Indicator plugs right into the charger. I let the car charge over night. Comfort indicator light flashed GREEN. Left the Comfort Indicator in the cigarette lighter and it still was flashing RED. So it's unclear if the dummy lights really work? Since the MUS 4.3 tells you if the battery is charged, is it really necessary to have this 'dummy light indicator"? I'm going to do a little more testing, but I'm starting to think not. Hope this helps anyone that might be thinking of purchasing the dummy light indicator by itself. By the way, if the lighter is not active if the engine is off, this indicator plug does not work. My other car has no power on the cigarette lighter when the ignition is off.
Indicator Lights Don't Work - Save a Few Bucks and Get the Version Without Lights
Jeremy J. KayMay 11, 2016
As others have described, the indicator lights always show red for me as well (even with a fully-charged battery). Looking on the manufacturer's website, it appears this is a common issue and they have some lame excuse for it. If you're just looking for a cig plug adapter, save yourself a couple of bucks and frustration by getting the one without the indicator lights. CTEK (56-263) Comfort Connect Cig Plug
