Not a good medical alert option.

Don't waste your money. Poorly designed you can hardly write anything on the small piece of paper that gets folded up and inserted in the opening. The medical alert red logo is off to the side so it's not as visible as it should be. There is no buckle of any kind so it's awkward to put on, it's scratchy on the edges and I doubt seriously if it would hold up to daily showers. You are much better off with a medical ID bracelet or necklace/dog tags. This is a classic case of "you get what you pay for." Spend the money and get something good.
Comfortable and attractive

I found this bracelet to be attractive and comfortable. I only use it when I don't want to wear a metal bracelet. While the card inside can contain significant information I prefer to have it just mention my most serious issue and instruct first aid technicians to see my laminated cards in my wallet, the same as I do on my metal bracelet.
Works well enough

I am probably "average male" as far as wrist size is concerned. Anyone with larger wrists than me, whether due to fat or bone, should be aware that the "hook" of the Velcro (the hard/scratchy part) will be against your skin where it provides that extra circumference. People with smaller wrists shouldn't worry, as the overlap is in the other direction, and that scratchy will just be padded by the rest of the bracelet.

It looks quite sharp, but is below average in execution.

The instructions that came with it are lacking, as well as the product description. After reading other reviews, it seems that there are a couple different versions of this item in circulation, with the pouch for the medical information showing up in slightly different spots. On mine, there are two pads of "loop" Velcro (the compliment of the "hook"). Where the gap is between these two pads, if you pinch, you'll see one of the pads lift up a bit - this is the pouch.
My Third One, Nice to have spares for wash day.

I just bought my third one, a Denim one this time. The other two are Olive Green. It is nice to have more than one because they get a little 'Ripe' over time. Now I can wash one while wearing one.
I type my info in a small font and seal the paper on both sides with clear packing tape. I swim with mine on no problem. Also much safer when working on a car or around electrical devices than a metal one.
The instructions could be clearer to. For those of you who are having problems storing your info, If you would look closely you will see the pocket on the inside where you put your info card. One end of the Velcro is not sewn, forming a pocket.
I do find it somewhat amazing that there are so many reviewers that can't operate this Medical ID bracelet tho and give a one star rating.
If you need one get one

I've been procrastinating for years over getting an emergency medical bracelet. When I first realized I best get one all that was available was the metal ones with the chain. I'm too active to have some lose metal bracelet flapping around on my wrist, especially my right wrist. (I wear a watch on my left arm.) So now that I'm older I starting looking again and came across the Vital Id. The idea interested me more then the type I already mentioned so I snagged one up. It fits good and it's snug so it doesn't move around. The size is perfect leaving no exposed velcro fuzz. I filled out my information and encased it in clear packing tape to keep the ink in place. Now if there's an emergency I hope the EMT's will look for it otherwise I've gained noting by wearing this.

PROS :
Comfortable
Relitivly inexpensive
Comes in numerous colors and the black looks good.
Information remains private unlike those alerts that have everything engraved on it.
Fits anyone.
Comes with two info cards but any paper will do.
Well made.
Good materials.
Design is thought-out.
One inch wide.

CONS:
Velcro will shorten it's life.
Should cost around ten bucks.

Highly recommended
