Incredible Unique Flavor - Treat yourself

They have an incredibly unique flavor. They would get 5 stars if they weren't so pricey. I discovered them as a drink garnish when out with friends. I don't drink but my friend said you must get one of these cherries they are awesome. So we had the waiter brings us each one and he showed use the jar for the name. They're so expensive he was only allowed to bring a few. I went on-line got the best price from Amazon by buying two jars. I shared one with said friend.YUM! I use them as rare treats. I would not blend them in a smoothie due to the cost but a small amount of the juice is a great smoothie flavoring.
Be careful of the cheap jar lid!

I ordered these cherries on a recommendation of a friend to try to up my game making Manhattens and Old Fashioneds. The cherries came quickly and were extremely well packaged. I have tried one of the cherries and the flavor is indeed very intense and full bodied. This review is not so much on the cherries themselves, however, but rather a warning about the very thin, weak lids they use on the jars.
The seller had carefully wrapped the jar in several layers of bubble wrap and then encased that bundle in three outer padded bags. I was amazed at how well they protected this little jar. My difficulty came when I tried to remove the jar from the wrap. I live in the mountains, and the bubble wrap had expanded some with the altitude and clamped tightly around the jar. I used a knife to cut off the wrap from the top of the jar and then slit about half way down the side of the wrap to free the jar. When I pulled up on the lid to slide the jar out (without turning), the lid popped off in my hand, and I spilled about 1/4 the jar of syrup and cherries on the carpet (OK, so unpacking the product over the carpet wasn't the brightest idea!). After I got done cleaning up the mess with my carpet cleaning machine, I examined the lid and found it to be really thin. My pulling straight up on the lid had exerted enough pressure that the lid distorted and no long tightens on the jar.
I want to assure you, I am not some athletic guy who lifts weights, but rather a 60 year old retiree. Again this is not a complaint about the seller or the cherries themselves, but just a note to pass along my experience with the lid, so that maybe others don't make my mistake.

If you like cocktails that require marachino cherries, then you must have Luxardo. No other brand even comes close. Are they expensive? That is for you to judge. If you drink Makers Mark or Jim Beam then probably so. If you aim a little higher then no, they are the way to go
FWIW, they pack quite a lot of cherries in that jar and compared to many "cheaper" brands they go a long way.
They are also amazing on ice cream. DELICIOUS.

Cherry!

Yeah, they're costlier than the neon US variety, but if you do a little research on the origins of the Marachino cherry, this is the real deal. Syrup is a bonus, drizzled over ice-cream. Aside from adding a little umph to cocktails, I'm looking forward to incorporating these cherries into some baking project.
Try them with a glass of prosecco

These cherries have a outstanding flavor and quality. First discovered yhem at a little beachside bar in kauai, added to a cocktail since they didn't have fresh strawberries or something. My gf lived them in her drink, so, I ordered some for her at home.
