If you don't care to own the computer flashing software required to have this OEM unit work, you will be at Toyota's mercy to do it. My local dealership in Anchorage would not do it for any price. They only install aftermarket units. Go figure. Returned. I wanted OEM.

Worked wonderfully in my 2015 Prius Persona Series. Installed it myself and also bought the programming cable/Techstream on Amazon to program it myself. Dealer wanted $800, cost me $350 to do it in my driveway one afternoon. Installation is fairly easy, the most annoying part was removing the hood latch to install the hood switch. Make sure you have a decent socket set to get into that tight spot and some patience to line it all back up again.

Installed this remote start myself. Followed the "DIY Remote start" on Priuschat and it was pretty easy. All of the interior panels popped off easy, (you don't have to mess with the steering wheel trim for the Gen III trim II model. You do have to insert a wire harness pin into the existing plug (Easy just make sure it is seated all the way), and the rest is easy using the existing harness to piggyback the connections and zip tie final wire routing. Make sure you mark the hood catch before removing to ensure proper adjustment after hood safety switch is installed. I installed the unit all the way until the directions said you need to get the ecu to recognize the new remote starter (Aprox. 2 1/2 hours). I brought it to the dealer for the recognition portion and made sure they had easy access to the "Test plugs" (Male and female) by the lower kick panel. (Aprox. 1hour)
The remote start works well but is limited by the range of the remote so about 70-80'. The system does shut down when you open the door and the hazards flash until the engine starts up (maybe 5 seconds). Recommended overall just remember the range limiting factor...
