I love this little heater, it has a little suction cup that is nice and strong, doesn't slip off. It fits nicely in my 2 gallon betta temporary house. Heats up my Aquarium to 76° which is good because the water was 70° before that. I waited the 24 hours before putting my betta in to test it. Within 3 hours it was at 74°. I trust this little device, I have recently had another brand get to 92° and that one had a safety switch, obviously it failed, but this one is always on and it doesn't do that.
Good always-on heater for a small tank, requires external thermostat outlet controller for best results
DarkDolphin7990July 28, 2017
Good heater for a small tank, probably for no more than 2 gallon or 2.5 gallon. Always-on type of heater that does the trick if you know to get some kind of external thermostat outlet controller. The one I use and recommend is:Inkbird C206 10A Heat Mat Temperature Controller with Outlet, 6.56FT NTC Sensor, F and C Degree, 50-108°F, No Cool Function. I am using 3x of this heater for each of my three same 2 gallon betta tanks, all hooked up to one thermostat outlet controller (with a 3-way outlet splitter for each heater's plug) and the probe of the outlet controller goes in one of the 3 tanks to monitor temps.
Misleading indicators in limited instructions

Described as designed for Betta Tank, up to 1.5 gallons. Instructions indicated temperatures adequate for maintaining my EcoCube 1.5 gallon tanks at something less than 80 degrees, (I estimated about 77-78 degrees or so-which would be ideal) I installed them and temperatures in each quickly rose to 87;8 degrees, the Betta survived, but my Amano Shrimp ALL died before I could get the water temperature lowered.
I purchased this (twin-pack) expecting to create a little more space in these small tanks...instead reinstalled the ones originally purchased at Amazon.

When space and looks are important these kind of heaters are good. They hold a stable temperature for Bettas and other tropical aquatic critters when there is no room for a bigger heater. NOT for when you need to adjust. There are no lights to indicate whether they are working or what the temp is. So a thermometer is needed.

This heater works great, it keeps my 1/2 gallon betta bowl approximately 10 degrees above the room temperature, which is perfect for the winter season, where I usually keep the heat around 66, or so.
In the summer, I'll likely unplug it, when the room temps are in the mid to low 70's.
