Has hot spots even on lowest setting.

I read extensively in the reviews and even asked the question as to whether or not this one has hot spots. I was advised that it didn't burn as reviews in other brands were stating problems with.
I wanted this for overnight oatmeal and it does 'burn' on some areas along the base. It's not actually charred, but very dark and crusty in those areas. I did find a workaround for it by using a timer that plugs into the wall outlet. So now I have it set to turn on at 3 am and off again at 9 am so there is no more than 6 hours on the timer. It doesn't burn this way and is still nice and fresh in the morning. I set the timer to go off for one hour from 9-10 am, then on for 30 min, off for 30 minutes, and so on until around 2 pm. Since there is no 'warm' setting this timer system works well for keeping it warm without scorching. The time was less than $10 at walmart and will be usable for other needs as well, so the solution is reasonable for me.
No complaints about it other than the fact that it actually works too well :)

I threw out my vaporizer and got the small crockpots instead and I'm happy with this purchase. Put some eucalyptus oil in and it's great for dry winter air. The price is right and the cleaning so much easier.

I often bring dips to parties, and really wanted a smaller crockpot (sorry, slow cooker) for queso, buffalo chicken dip, etc. so I don't have to lug around my big one. This is perfect! Still big enough to hold a lot of dip, but MUCH easier to carry and use compared to my full size crock pot. Picture is very accurate to color and style of slow cooker. It is a wonderful bright green! 5 stars for the color, 3 stars for performance nets out to 4 stars, overall. Mine does not heat evenly, though it is fun to wake up to overnight oatmeal that includes a crusty little cookie in one portion of the pot. Not a deal breaker, just a word of warning.
