This is a great little one cup coffe maker that uses grounds and is just what I needed. It does not require the expensive k cups. I love it, it saves me money and was a good buy. I'm the only one in the house that drinks coffee.
I always unplug it when not in uses, it does not shut off automatically. But I use it daily for loose leaf tea and coffee. You can get paper filters for it, if you choose too. I don't use them, it cleans up well without them. However, I do buy highend coffee grounds and loose tea. They taste great in this little unit, I get the full flavor. I Bought this for the office, but liked it so well, I don't use my large gavialia brewer pot anymore at home. I'm not a fan of the expensive Plastic K cups. I may have to get another one for the office, the fact that I use tea and coffee in it really makes it the right product for me.
I noticed, one lady' review said she got burned with this unit. Not sure how that could happen with this product, maybe she turned it upside down? I have used it almost a year, I have never been burned and absolute love it and the flavor I get from the no paper filter.
Hope this info helps. 😊It's a low cost way to Enjoy good coffee and tea!

Wish I could have given it 5 stars

Pros: coffee is hot (which is difficult to find in this size coffeemaker); slightly longer brew time which makes the coffee perfect in strength without losing temperature; makes 8-14 oz cups of coffee; removable drip pan for to go mug.
Con: Push button to release lid sticks 100% of the time, must be manually pulled up, this is not a deal breaker but very Inconvenient and annoying; you must remember to manually shut off as it does not do so automatically. For the price and quality of brew produced it's a keeper with two basic problems. The lid sticking is a defect. The shut off issue probably keeps the unit reasonable in price. Would have given it five stars were it not for the lid sticking.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
I am an impulse buyer who has plenty of time at my desk to shop! Therefore I am always finding and adding new little bonuses to my desk at work. This item happens to be my most recent and def my most favorite at the moment!
I am at the front of our store and hate walking to the back for anything, this is including COFFEE! I realized my Starbucks allowance was disappearing a bit quicker lately so came the need for this machine! It has been WONDERFUL for me and 100% recommend buying. I listed my experience below and hope you love it as much as I do!
PROS:
Filter cleans soo easy
Adorable adorable look on my desk
Fairly quite
Ranges from 8-14 oz
I can take the filter out and add any tea bags or even get hot water to make soups etc at my desk!
I can use the K-Cups by pouring it out and into the filter. *NOTE about that is the k-cups amount is like 2 cups of whatever you're making so they will make strong if you pour the whole thing in for your one cup. I say this is a pro for me because I love my coffee and tea strong!
CONS:
IT IS HOT!! Steam will burn if you open top up right after.
Coffee is also HOT (some can love this, for me I like warm) I just let mine sit for a bit
Short cord so you do need an extension
MUST REMEBER TO TURN OFF!!

Yes, it's cheap, and I mean that figuratively literal and literally figurative, if that makes any sense at all. Yes, you have to be very careful with the lid's button, for the slightest amount of misjudged strength might blow it into pieces. Yes, the included mug is very thin and, with hot liquid, nearly burns your hands, and while the tapered bottom shape looks kinda nice, it is a wonderful way to have a scalding hot accident. Yes, you have to shut it off manually, but honestly when you walk away and hear it gurgling for more water minutes later, you go shut it off. Yes, there is a slight plastic taste, that is to say that after you take the time to run it ONCE with just water, before the first time you brew with it, that it GOES AWAY. Yes, you have to use your ground coffee, but you don't need filters, and who wants to spend so much on k-cups anyways? Yes, it's fairly easy to clean, a spot where it's simplicity can shine. Yes it's a piping hot cup'a Joe which is more than many more expensive counterparts can say. Yes, it's VERY easy on the wallet, and perfectly good! And finally, yes, it brews a DAMN FINE CUP OF COFFEE!
Unless the many who have complained about this product all got duds, which I honestly can't pin one way or another given the quality, THIS machine is perfectly good, and if YOURS works and you're still complaining, you're expecting too damn much, after all IT'S $15! FIFTEEN DOLLARS!! Just leave the lid open when it's in use and after cleaning to dry, to keep wear on the button to a minimum! Pour in more water than you'd usually drink, to keep it from burning up anything and creating burnt tastes, and pour out the excess! Get an automatic power outlet timer if auto shut off is so important! This is a great item, could be a bit better, but for the price, love it for who it is! It's perfectly good! :)

Great Little One-Cupper!

I read reviews when I first considered ordering this. There were some negatives, but I know we can't always take stock in negative reviews. And it was inexpensive enough to take a chance. I'm so glad I did. This little 1-cupper makes a great cup of coffee! I switched out the cup it came with for my own 14 oz. cup, of course measuring first to be sure I could use that much water. Perfect! I find I can actually use a little less coffee grounds than I usually do too. It's easy to clean, and brews fast enough, so that if I want that 2nd cup, it's just a few minutes. My daughter is getting married next month and I'll be staying in a hotel for 3+ days. I don't know if there's a coffee maker in the room, but this little pot is going with me! Love it! I don't even remember what the negative reviews were, but I have no negatives.
