Background: I am a single guy. My ex wife used to do most of the décor. This is my fist rug purchase, ever. I did not know the in's and out's of what to expect or how to buy a rug.

I knew the size I wanted, 3'x5'. This product is 3 ft 3 in x 5 ft, and I knew it was going to be a little larger than the area I wanted to put it in. But all the other rugs I looked at did not have the color, size, style or packaging that I wanted. Therefore, I had to put a little bit under furniture.

Shipping time was decent. I knew upfront that there was going to be a small delay. It was shipped within the stated time frame and arrived when I expected it to. It shipped rolled up. This is a BIG plus because so many reviews had the rugs folded over. I did not want to deal with getting rid of creases. There are NO creases in this rug because it shipped rolled up. The packaging was good, I presume. It had what I recognized as medical shoe booties on the ends of the roll and tight plastic wrapping. As far as I can ascertain, there was zero shipping damage.

Unpacking was easy and within 24 hours it was laying flat for the most part. There is one corner that is still up a little, but it is slowly getting flat with no assistance. There was a "chemical" smell that dissipated really quick, a couple hours or so. It smelled like all the other new carpets I have smelled in the past.

The corners are straight and appear 90 degrees. There are no curves in the corners. There is no apparent fraying or loose strands. There are a few strands that are slightly longer throughout the rug. If this is not meant to be, I like it, adds character. Those strands are not loose. Weaving appears consistent and tight. I do have 2 wonderful kitty cats that immediately thought this rug was for them. I had to inform them that they are not to scratch the rug (I will see how THAT works). So, any future loose strands could be from my cats and not defects. When the "chemical" smell dissipated, they both seemed to ignore the rug.

The only "con" I have is the actual size. This is why I prefaced this review with my background. This may be how the industry works (like lumber having a nominal and actual size). The actual rug area, not the edges are 3 ft 3 in x 5 ft. The edges add about 3/8" to the size. For my situation, it does not matter. I am considering this something new I have learned. In fact, I am glad the actual rug area is actually 3 ft 3 in x 5 ft.

The rug is soft, which is a characteristic I was looking for. The pictures represent the pattern and colors accurately.

Durability and cleaning I cannot comment on...yet. When situations and issues arise, I will update this review.

I love this area rug! It goes perfectly in my living room and is beautiful and soft. It also helped brighten the room!

Works great, and no unexpected surprises so I'm happy with it. The colors are exactly as in the pictures. Would have given 5 stars if it was softer, it's not very soft feeling like normal shag rugs are, but not too bad. The size is not compatible with any rug pad (that I could find) so I just bought one slightly smaller and it works fine.

It's a good quality rug. I just needed to vacuum it to fluff it up. I bought rug tape to flatten the edges.
