Purchased this toaster a month ago. It failed, lights flashing. Other reviews indicated the same kind of failure mode. I did purchase it from Amazon warehouse specials. Maybe it was a rebuild? When it did make toast, the toast was done perfectly. I love the looks and its ability to take four slices or extra long bread. I am in the process of via Amazon return and buying a new one. I added a second star for Amazons response. I will review the new one after a month of use.

Bonus: items to be toasted are mechanically raised and lowered in a fashion reminiscent of a F-18 being raised to the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.

Expected better performance

This toaster is expensive so I expected it to perform flawlessly. Mostly it is OK but occasionally it seems to be confused as to what it is doing. Lights will flash, it resets it self to start the cycle over again, it won't allow the bread to come up no matter which button you press. I have only been able to stop it in these moments by unplugging it and turning it upside down (difficult because it is hot) and shaking it until the bread falls out. Usually after all this when you plug it back in it will go back to normal.
Also it does not seem to like it if the two sides are not the same - ie. one piece of bread on one side and two on the other. Toasting becomes irregular.
I will stick with this toaster for a while longer but if problems persist it will be returned while with in warranty.
