Terrible.....

The damn thing blew up on us. We used it 2 times and the glass shattered at 400 F.

I would not recommend this product to anyone as it is dangerous.

First, this is just an awesome little appliance. No kitchen should be without. However, it is a fire hazard. It burned up an outlet. The cord gets very, very hot. This is not something that should be ignored. I suggest everyone who owns one of these feel the cord to see how hot it gets. I did get 4+ plus years of great performance, before it flamed out, literally. It's well beyond warranty, but I am contacting customer support.

Good product while it works.
This, and most Breville ovens, have faulty thermal fuses which are quite difficult to replace. After my oven stopped working, I googled the issue and I found out many users are experiencing the same problem. Breville should be aware of this issue and fix the units that fail, even after warranty expires - I purchased my unit 18 months ago and warranty covers one year - and use a better quality thermal fuse in new units. I'd also be a great idea to install it in such a way that can be easily serviced if it fails.
A simple $5 part fails and the repair will cost me at least $150 plus the inconvenience of having to be without an oven for weeks.

We purchased this toaster oven almost six months ago. We use it daily. Here are some of my thoughts...

Pros:

It bakes like a boss and with the added convection option it cooks nearly twice as fast as our gas oven.

Our three teenagers use it often. It makes perfect toast.

All the settings serve a practical purpose (e.g. broil, toast, reheat, frozen meals); there's not a bunch of useless bells and whistles.

Fast preheating

The center rack (there are two racks) pulls out when you open the door. Magnets!

Save on energy!

The interior light is really handy. You can check out the progress of your food whenever you want.

When we entertain it's a lifesaver having an extra oven.

It looks really nice as far as toaster ovens go.

Cons:

When removing food it can be difficult avoiding the inside of the super hot door with your knuckles. I haven't burned myself yet, but it can be frustrating just trying to pull out your food. It's especially awkward when using the bottom rack. I'm always reminding the girls to use caution.

It turns itself off when the timer runs out (auto shut-off). I know it's a safety feature, but it's a pain at times. You just have to remember to add extra time.

The baking pan, broiling pan, and pizza pan included are made of dark metal; dark metal is not ideal for toaster ovens (I dislike the dark metal in general). Although, the pizza pan is non-stick and can be useful.

Just like any oven it gets hot around the exterior. You have to keep items clear of the top and sides of toaster oven. So really, it takes up more space than you'd think.

All in all, we really like it!

The warranty is useless because they don't answer the phone. 888-960-1940 is Breville's support number as listed at the top of their website. They have not answered the phone in days and have ignored my continual requests for callback.
