Bought new to replace other Scilogex stir plate that failed. Big mistake. This one won't turn on, after just a month of limited use. I won't make this mistake again

Product was used and dirty. When plugged in the equipment would not stay powered on.

It often is 50c hotter than it should be. Mine has recently starting making a worry electrical hum. I will likely return it as soon as I have time to pack it up, since I no longer have the original packaging. As far as I am concerned this is no better than an magnetic stir plate, which could be had for $150 less. It's frankly awful, I just don't have the time to return it this week.
