The Ball Jar Crystal Jelly Jars that I bought came with labels that weren't so attractive. So, instead I used chalkboard labels that provided a more modern look. I love these jelly jars but I was unaware that the lid was in two separate parts. One part of the lid is a band and the second is a lid. I was really disappointed when I got the jars and this was the case. However, I did do more research and discovered that you can buy separate lids and replace the ball jars with those lids. All you have to do is match up the mouth jar size with the lid size and order the lid replacement from Amazon. Use the search term "Ball Jar Lids" you'll find a wide variety of them.

I primarily used these jars as spice holders. I'm currently in the process of moving into a new apartment for this year. So, I decided that I would nicely package some spices and take them to my new apartment. I've included pictures of the jars using the labels that come with the jar versus the chalkboard labels. I honestly prefer the chalkboard labels because it gives it a more polished look. Overall, I am very please with the quality of the jars I wish I had known that the lids was two piece. Nonetheless, I'm giving these jars 5 stars because I should've been more careful in looking over the description.

I used these little 4oz jars to make jam for Christmas gifts this year. They were the perfect size for coworkers and family members. I really liked the quilted look of the jars. They worked fine and I still processed the jam in the jars like I normally would without any problems.

My family members have given them back to me after finishing their jam and I have used it to store after school snacks in it for my son. I usually have some veggies or fruit that I cut up, in it ready for him when he gets hungry.

Update: 2/11/2016 Since I received 98% of the jars back since the holidays, I have continued to use them for snacks for my son. However, I wanted to share that we recently used a jar that lost a lid, in a craft project. Which in reality isn't that big of a deal, since you can find lids very easily to go on them. However, we were looking at a magazine we found and seen they made a bunny basket out of rope.

We do not have any rope, but we do have some twine on hand. My 6 year old son and I together made a bunny or mouse (depends on who you ask) a little holder for his buttons can have a special place. I included the pictures of our craft project, in hopes that helps you.

So I just wanted to mention in an updated post that these jars are perfect sizes for making jams as gifts or using them to store fruit and veggies in the fridge for after school, but I believe my son's favorite use of these jars is using them in craft projects. He is already thinking of some other ideas to use them for, like to plant flowers in them for his teacher, and to create other storage for his other small craft pieces.

I love these 'cute' little ball jars. I bought this set for my spices. I love to cook and I have LOTS of spices and herbs and they were everywhere! I have to give a shout out to 'savory spice shop' because I have been buying my spices online exclusively from them for years and they are THE BEST!!! Spice jars are expensive and some are so small they are useless. These are perfect! They look retro to me but I can see these in a modern kitchen with the touch of silver (or use a different color lid- they have them on Amazon.)
These jars stack easily, but no more than two. The glass is beautiful and allows you to see what is inside. These were typically called 'jam jars'- but I can see so many other uses with them.
When I buy my spices I buy them in 2 or 4 ounce bags. These bags come with labels that have pertinent information on them. What I did was cut around the spice label I needed, insert that into the jar, fill the jar with the spice, then put a 'ball' label specifically made for these 4 ounce jars- It was a lot of work, but my goodness no more playing 'try to find the spice'... Everything is in order, and the spices will keep longer.
It was one of my New Years resolutions- and I am ¾ of the way done! I need another 24 jars and I will be onto the next organization job.

I purchased these as a gift for friends who make jam. They shipped and arrived intact and were a great price for exactly the size I wanted. I was very happy I found these online!

Some rings were dented but didn't seem to affect their ability to seal.
