I really wanted to like these boots. The leather is excellent quality, the cordovan color is deep and fantastic. I wear size 12 or 13 in sneakers, but I knew from previous "real" shoe purchases that I would need a 11 or 11.5 in these boots. The size 11 boots I ordered were the right size for me, lengthwise. In comparison, I wear size 13 Nike and New Balance sneakers that usually fit a bit too big (but 12's are too small), andI wear size 11.5 in close-fitting dress shoes (Johnston and Murphy).

The boots I received were not made with care, and I returned them. I wasn't ready to sink $250+ in a pair of boots with obvious craftsmanship defects that resulted in uncomfortable boots.

The right and left boots were asymmetrical, with the right boot's stitched seams all placed differently from the left boot (see photos). The placement of the stitching on the right boot made it very uncomfortable, with a lumpy thick stitch ending up right under my outer metatarsal bump in the middle of my foot. On the left boot, the fit was great, the stitch location was well in front of the widest part of my foot.

Also, the heels of both boots were not fully glued, and the joint was easily opened using my fingers to gently separate the heel. I didn't try to pull much harder, but I am confident that I could have pulled the heel completely off using only my hands.

These Chippewa boots are awesome. These are the second pair in my collection (also own a pair in black) and I love the instant break-in feel they provide, the leather is exquisite and of a very high quality . I wear a 10.5, bought a 10.5 and they fit perfectly. The Tan color is spot on like the picture in the Ad. I am definitely getting a third pair in another color. Highly recommended.

I have another pair of the Chippewa service boots in crazy horse and had to get these when they were on sale during black Friday. They fit exactly like my other pair and have broken nicely after just a few wears. I normally wear a 9.5 in dress shoes and tennis shoes, but when it comes to boots I wear an 8.5. These boots will only get better with age.

Hardly anything is perfect so I seldom give 5 stars to any product. That being said, although I have only had these boots a couple months, I feel that they are a very good boot. I love the color of the leather. I love the quality of the leather. They are boots and they are expected to fit like boots, as these do. I do have a little wider than average feet so I feel these are a little narrow on my foot. I typically wear an 11 or 11.5 in athletic shoes or any casual shoe. Dress shoes for me are typically 10 or 10.5 I ordered these boots in a 10 and I they are a tad long and as I stated, a bit narrow. They are molding a little better to my foot now and I can wear them all day without being uncomfortable. Hopes this helps anyone interested in buying these.

Excellent boots. Leather was supple out of the box. I followed everyone's advice I sized down. (I wear an 11.5 shoe, got these in 11). Best fitting pair of boots I've owned. Will update once I've worn these for awhile.
