Solid electric fence charger. Was easy to install however some other reviews disagree. Part of the design is that you plug straight out from the back (There is no cord to plug to). What I did was get a 1 1/4 (inch and a quarter) hole saw, slapped it in the drill, then drilled a hole through a piece of 2x8 board. I mounted the charger on the board with the hole I drilled being lined up with the plug on the back of charger. Then I could plug to the charger straight through the board. I then screwed the board to a post and then screwed another board to the top of the post to make sort of a roof to cover the charger from rain and sun. I used an old 2 foot piece of copper pipe, beat into the dirt for a ground rod. Works great. I would definitely buy again
Great fencer for chicken yard

Bought this fencer to replace the more popular Fi-Shock 5 acre because this one has the pulse feature. The other fencer was too deadly for my chickens. It actually killed two chipmunks and despite researching it, I'm not sure why. The pulse is better for them and me and still seems to keep away the raccoons (my worst predator), dogs (also bad) and skunks. I wish it had a cord like the other models. This one plugs directly into the wall which doesn't give you a lot of flexibility, but for the price, I'm still giving it 5 stars.
I tested it on myself and the other one the shock was much more pronounced and you will have a bad rest of the day

I have raccoon problems in my garden. This is the item you want as I purchased unknowingly the other Fi-Shock that was not pulsing. That model was a continuous shock and had killed birds, squirrels, rabbits, and even caught a fox which luckily I heard and turned the power off in time but not before it pissed itself.
This model is about half as strong as I touched the other one as well, I tested it on myself and the other one the shock was much more pronounced and you will have a bad rest of the day, this one still has enough bite and will make the rest of your day unpleasant and it pulses so the animal has time to run away compared to the continuous version which locks you in place. I used it for the last two years and it has not killed a single bird or squirrel or anything else. And the garden was well protected as nothing was eaten or destroyed.
This is the one to buy if you have a garden in the suburbs and do not want to kill small animals such as birds and squirrels.

Worked perfectly well with pulsing charge to keep big dog in our yard

We had a German Shepherd jumping our fence so we had to hot wire our fencing when we are out in the country. I wanted a shock that was not continuous in case she bit the wire. This is working perfectly to keep her home so she is not chasing any neighbor's cats or livestock. Now she is staying in the yard behind our fencing. We hated having to shock her but it was either this or finding her a new home. Putting up hot wire is town is illegal in some areas so check before you use this for your dogs.
