So, I've been using this for about a month now and I really like it! It's easy to use and cleans up so well. It's essentially the same as a regular rice cooker that plugs into an outlet, but for some reason it's just so much more appealing to stick it in the microwave and forget about it.
One tip I do have is to place a paper plate underneath it if you're doing more than 1 cup of rice. The little clear plastic tray is supposed to stop overflow, but it really doesn't. I made 2 cups of rice for dinner the other day and I had puddles in my microwave.

This rice steamer works great, is easy to use. I ordered it because my old microwave rice steamer was old and lost the gasket. This one has no gasket to lose. However my favorite thing about this one is the ease that the inside lid can be removed. My old unit I had use a fork inserted into one of the openings to pry it up. This one just lifts up, easy. It's also surprisingly easy to clean, doesn't need to be scrubbed like the old one. The only thing I would like is a sealing lid (both lids have slots to allow venting). A sealing lid would allow me to use it to store left over soup (which it also works great for) with out having to dirty a second container.

pros:
--the internal rack does keep veggies for the most part out of the water
cons:
-- the containers do get quite hot in the microwave if you steam with water. and there are minimal hand holds/ handles to use to pick up the containers. you WILL burn your hands.
--the plastic is fragile. mine actually broke from a hard drop onto tile.
--I never could get the vent to open properly, just had to leave the lid loose
--overly expensive for what you get.

I bought all 3 sizes thinking they were better than cheaper ones. I was wrong. Worked good first few times making rice. It seems the lid don't fit just right now rice doesn't steam after 15 minutes rice isn't cooked yet water still in bottom . Wish I never bought this product
