Fantastic Item, I have in ground pool in SW Florida, Also 2 small Dachshunds miniatures, One is a live wire and likes to retrieve his ball in the pool when you throw it there. The other Doxie can swim very well but is not to happy getting wet. Its tough for the one that is a live wire to retrieves the ball to climb out of the pool on this board unless I put a small towel down so his feet wont slide on the hard surface. The family just loves this.
This works great to provide a safety feature to pool

Recently purchased a second one to connect to floating kneeboard so dogs can crawl on kneeboard themselves when they need a break in swimming. First one is attached to side of pool to allow dogs to come and go and get out of pool on their own. ( I fashioned a portable ladder of an old pool ladder with rubber treads to allow the dogs to come and go.) We still do not allow them into the pool unless there is supervision. This works great to provide a safety feature to pool.

This was exactly what I was looking for! It's a bit simple, but that's kind of what I wanted. I have a deck boat and the dog struggles to get in out of the water. This makes that task easy. He's an old boy, so I still give him a push but this definitely makes things easier. Like others, I added rope through the holes to add traction and float. Great product.
One note... my boat has a lower swim platform. This would not work well for a high boat.

Needs Improvement for Large Dog Use

Bought the large size ramp, but my 50 lb male golden doodle was unable to climb it. The far end (away from the side of our dock) would sink down too quickly, requiring him to climb almost vertically. I added some nylon rope as another reviewer suggested, plus used the rope to add 3 cut pieces from a pool noodle underneath the far end. It seemed much better, but then the extension piece, which converts the regular ramp to the large size ramp, started separating. I'm going to add a couple of screws to permanently secure the extension piece to the main body and see if that works, but this was not designed very well. At this point my pup may be a bit scared of this thing.

Tragically you never thought it could happen until it does. We lost our little dog to drowning last week and in the process of looking to build an ramp my wife googled and discovered your product. It arrived quickly and was a breeze to assemble -- only mentioning the lashing cord could have been a foot longer but no issue off to Lowes.
The curved bottom rolls perfectly against the edge of our pond and settled into the water sufficiently that should any animal ever need an exit this ramp is forever part of our pond.
