If I could, I would marry this rug.

This is a life-saver! We have three dogs, and one of my daily activities would be to sweep the floors (in the best case scenario) or kneel down to scrub mud paw marks with a cloth (depending on the weather)

this thing is unreal All I have to do is make the dogs sit on it, of course they are so excited when left in from the backyard that they jump around a little like little monkeys, which only helps with the cleaning of the paws. A towel to make sure their underbelly is dry, and maybe a little touch up on the paws. We've had NO more paw prints around the house. I swear, this is not cheap, I admit, but it is worth its weight in gold! I got the large one and with three dogs, one being a small horse (huge dalmatian), it was the best option. Buy this. You will not be disappointed!
This rugs holds so much that I have to take it outside to the garbage can to shake it off

This not only keeps your floors from getting sloppy, it also holds in a lot of dirt, pebbles, etc. I would usually just shake whatever rug I had off onto the floor where it sits, then clean it up and put the rug in the washer. This rugs holds so much that I have to take it outside to the garbage can to shake it off! That's really nice because it saves it from getting scattered across the whole floor. The only draw back it has to me is the fact that it does not have a non-slip backing as it advertises. For as much as it has helped to keep my floor clean, I can live with having to put it in place all the time.
2 Soggy Doggy Mats

It's not bad. My dogs still track in stuff but it's less than what it was. At first one of my dogs would not walk on it he tried to go around it but now he's ok. The wind keeps blowing these over and I have to fix them often. That drives me nuts. My dogs like laying on them so it helps to keep their bellies clean. I shake them off often to get rid of dirt and grass. I haven't put them in the washer yet. Overall it's a good product no complaints yet. They are soft and the material is not coming apart. I liked the large size, it was hard to find this size in another brand so that was the selling point for me. Worth the price!
Very useful mat, but can be difficult to wash due to size

As I've reviewed other mats like this one I have purchased, I absolutely love this mat! I used it in the living room for a long time, then moved it to the bedroom. The pets love it, it's kid friendly, and it's easy to keep clean. There is only ONE (yes, ONE) downside to this rug -- it's size. While the generous size is great when in use, it's a beast to wash. I recommend taking it to your local laundry mat rather than beating up your own washing machine, as it gets really heavy when wet. If you can figure out how to clean it in your bathtub or outside, all the better. Sometimes, all it really needs is to be shaken out and hung in the sun for a bit.
Impressed

I admit I was skeptical when I bought this. The price kept me from buying for a long time, but when it went on sale, I snapped it up. See, I have a 120 pound, long-haired King Shepherd who LOVES rain, mud, snow, and swimming in the lake, so she's almost constantly wet or dirty, and it takes her HOURS to dry. Her dense fur holds water like a sponge, to the point where she actually mildews in the dense fur around her neck and shoulders. I've invested in microfiber towels and even a microfiber doggie "robe" to help soak up all that water. But still...it takes forever for her to dry.

For a while, I couldn't really tell if the doormat was working on her wet, muddy feet, and really, I'm not sure that as a doormat it's any different from the towels we used to keep in the entryway. But where it impresses me is its ability to draw water and sand out of her fur after a trip to the lake.

Always before, even five hours after a trip to the beach, we'd let her into the living room from her towel-floor-covered entryway prison, and she'd leave massive wet spots and sand wherever she laid on the hardwood floor. But after just two hours on this doormat? She can come into the living room and even after sprawling on the floor, I can't find any sand, and she's just barely damp. I'm REALLY impressed. The doormat really does work to dry her fur and draw the sand out of it.

So why 4 stars instead of 5? One is the price. I love it, but it's spendy. Also, it's hard to vacuum and it has a tendency to bunch up because the backing isn't all that grippy. It's also not the most attractive thing, and the white bone design threads tend to come out. Still, aesthetics aren't that important to me as long as it works, which it does.

In earlier reviews, someone said the rug is composed of loops that catch on toes and nails, but the threads in mine aren't looped -- they're straight cut, so no catching of nails or toes.

In summary, I don't know that this doormat would be worth paying full price for if I didn't have a long-haired dog that is basically a sponge on legs, but because we DO have a sponge on legs, the rug was a worthwhile investment.
