This center was far too heavy for the wall. The handyman wouldn't even install it. He advised of the heaviness for my wall in particular, but noted that it really was too heavy for almost any wall. Having a young child at home (thus the reason I was looking to have a storage system mounted and out of reach...) the risk was far too great. I'd read in other reviews that the unit had fallen off the wall and I wish I would've decided not to order. The cost to return the item ($90!) plus the 30% restocking fee from the seller made returning not an option so I just lost money spent. They also don't accept returns unless it is factory sealed. So if you open the item at all then it's a wrap. I would not recommend purchasing this item, or purchasing from the seller South Shore in general. I ended up purchasing floating shelves from ABC Warehouse and they worked great. They were easy to install and kept the area looking light and airy. I purchased two and they were sturdy and hold my media devices perfectly.

This shelf works great in our living room. We have a small house so we needed to creatively use our space so everything could fit, and this shelf did the trick. It holds our cable box, wii u, ps3, and xbox 360 with no issues. My dad and husband installed it and there were many not-not-nice words said during installation. My dad's main comment was that he couldn't believe something so heavy was going to go on my wall. It needs 3 studs to safely be mounted. It was installed over Christmas and has held up great! My husband and I have bumped it a couple times, but it didn't even creak. I think it's going to stay up!

Very cheaply made. I am returning it. While assembling it the directions said to hammer in an anchor but that anchor went right through the other side. I didn't even hit it very hard. Glad I figured it out before mounting to the wall. Wish I had seen other photos before wasting my time. Amazon insisted I disassemble it and send it back. Description did not mention that the underside is not painted so you can't mount it very high.

Great price, sturdy , wall entertainment system that worked great with a cantilever wall mount set up . Just be careful when putting it together set up you work area on a cleared rug and don't be to forceful when banging pegs in with hammer during the construction of the shelf. I almost destroyed the to surface when bagging in one of the pegs on the undersurface.

I ordered this to use as a makeup vanity and I absolutely love it. I built this and mounted it myself in about 3 hours with a few beer breaks thrown in there. I was really surprised it was light enough for me to mount on my own, very proud of myself for not having to call a male to help me out. Mounting procedure was simple also.
