No. Save your money. Doesn't get to edges of carpet, and for money, it's nothing spectacular and isn't that light. Loved my first Oreck. This one, not so much.

I like this vacuum but it hard to push. I do have high carpet but gosh it's hard on the arms and I'm a hairdresser with very strong arms. It pulls back good just hard to push

the Oreck is as expected, however they have a very complicated was of filling the warrenty..this could be solved allowing the purchaser to bypass the "red tape"

Wonderful brand name product for the price. Definitely recommend it for keen consumers looking for a specific brand with light weight vacuum cleaner.
GREAT FOR FLAT TYPE CARPETS

This commercial vacuum does thick throw rugs just fine. I ran it on low power for that.
But it really is built for commercial grade carpeting-basically flat. It will not do patterned or thick carpet.
I couldn't believe how much dog hair it sucked up on high power ! Lightweight, as advertised. Heavy 40 foot cord but not an issue. Convenient handle in back if you want to carry or lift vacuum up. Really goes flat to do under tables.
