Our city has been having auto theft problems for some time. I've had 3 break-ins on my car. The Sheriff's department recommended devices like these that blink. They said the bad guys will look elsewhere to break into a car, than to figure out if the blinking is a real alarm or not. So far it seems to be working.

I am glad to find these again! I had some years ago when I lived in an area of high crime. No one ever bothered my car but cars near me were vandalized or even stolen. I even put a couple in my apartment window sills!! This gives vandals just enough immediate warning to leave mine alone when they are in a hurry to make their move. Now I am living in the country where the amateur "outlaws" are many. I had a hard time finding these deterrents again. I can't use solar ones because my car is in the shade all day so they won't power up. Now that I found this model again I will be buying more!

I've had my window smashed in my urban city 3 times (they never took anything, and my car is nothing special). I put these stickers on and the light, and zero since (knock on wood!). Loses only 1 star because the stickers lose their stickiness faster than I would have liked if that makes sense. Good buy though.

I am over protective of my home and I use these to put in some front and rear windows of my house. Or use double-sided tape to melt them in the battery last for around three or four months. You can tell the batteries are low when the light is continuously on. I think it's worth the few bucks to get these and put them around your house for the added value for safety. I put them in very noticeable windows in the corner so it appears well protected.
Loved the Effect and Price - but Fried in the Sun on the Dash

This product does the trick and is realistic. However, living in the desert sun, it got so hot on the dash that the batteries fried and burst. Drats. I really like it. Maybe in another climate. I bought it after reading a blog from a former car thief who said he didn't waste his time as a criminal figuring out if a blinking "alarm" was real or fake, he just moved on to a car without one. Recommend but not in the desert.
