Not Dishwasher Safe

I picked up a set of these for scooping birdseed in the garage and ice in our indoor and outdoor bars. They're scoops, so mechanically there is little to go wrong here. Why two stars? Simple, two big flaws. They are not labeled as dishwasher safe, and as many have pointed out, they tend to turn dark grey or black after a single run. Generally aluminum doesn't fare well in a dishwasher due to chemical reactions between the detergent and the metal. I don't consider them unusable because I discolored three of them, but that could be off putting to many. The second flaw is the adhesive used to affix the bar code and "Made in China" label to the scoop. I had to use mineral spirits to remove the residue. I'll take a star off any product that requires me to break out a solvent to remove label/sticker residue, but having to go to mineral spirits on something that will potentially come in contact with food loses two stars. Really just a pet peeve, but worth mentioning.

Bottom line is they're cheap aluminum scoops. They'll be fine if you don't put them in the dishwasher and don't mind using some extra elbow grease to remove the bar code labels.
Scoop holds more than enough ice for a drink; hand washable

These are nice, large scoops that hold more than enough ice for a drink. I have always cringed when guests have to try to get ice out of the bucket with a small scoop or, worse, with their hands. These scoops are a must-have for a bar or kitchen. I am hand washing them to be sure they don't become discolored (based on other reviews).
Poorly Made in China. Arrived scraped, marred. Soft metal scrapes off easily. Should have looked at the customer pictures. Junk.

Arrived in shipment scraped, marred.

So cheap the metal scrapes off easily.

So flimsy you can bend them with your fingers.

If you want disposable cheap scoops that tarnish easily and leave aluminum in the food, these are the right ones for you.

Very Poorly Made in China.
Don't use with food

It turned dark Grey on a single wash. It can't be used with food at all. That defeats the purpose of buying it in the first place. Either they should have a disclaimer on top to not use with food. The high 4 star rating is very disappointing and misleading.
Problem with coating.

The scoops looked fine when they arrived. Since the use would be to scoop food or ice, I put them in the dishwasher. I did not see any note that they were not dishwasher safe. After the cycle, I removed them and a soot like substance came off on my hands. I tried wiping it off, but more layers of it keep coming. My husband suggested I scrub them with steel wool, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I may just toss them out.
