Works and doesn't overheat for me.
dc.arock✓ Verified Purchase•January 15, 2018
It's pushing a 500W 12" in an open box. Been using it for 8 months now every time I take my car and so far never had it overheat on me.
I have the gain around 30% and I adjust using the remote that I installed under my steering wheel.
NOt sure what the actual Wattage on this is but I know that it's more than my 500w speaker can handle.

Great sub amp for the price, wattage and looks very nice.
The best amp for your money.

This amp came really quickly, and powered my 2 15 inch subs with no problem. They were rated at 2500 max each, so they tied together really well.
The crossovers and equalizers are really easy to work with on this amp. My suggestion is not to use the bass boost though, because it really sacrifices sound quality just for more ground shaking vibrations. This amp lasted me well over a year with no issues at all, at which then I sold it along with my system. I still know the guy, and he still says it's functioning fine months later. All in all, was very happy with this purchase.

Ignore Bad Reviews

I have owned this amplifier for 3 years now (the 5000.1 Evo version) and let me tell you, it works amazing! I seriously encourage you to stray away from the negative reviews. Most are probably coming from people who are not experienced enough to handle and manage car audio.
This is not "cheap components" or "bad quality" in any way. The amplifier itself is actually pretty big and very heavy and sturdy. I used it to power two Rockford Fosgate 12" P2's with absolute ease. In addition to that, it was able to power a single Rockford Fosgate 12" T0 with no problem ( a very high end sub). If this bad boy can power these higher end subwoofers, it will be able to run anything of a lesser RMS (which in addition, I have used this to power Sony Xplodes, and various other 2-3 subwoofers setups). I have never had a single issue with this sub in all the time I have had it.
People who rate bad, most likely do not know how to take care of their audio equipment.

Great amp for the price

For the price it is a great amp even though it's a class A/B mono block... Previously i had a JL 300/2 v2 and it sadly went on me... i was wanting an amp that was similar to the JL but not the price... so i found this amp and did my research and decided to buy it... just make sure to set your gains and crossovers properly...
